Crossfit Self Defense

This is the point I was trying to make - what is a “clear case of self-defense” to one person (juror) is a fucked up, race-driven murder to another person (juror.)

So… best not to get involved, and don’t depend on some crossfit program to save your life.

The rest of this should probably be argued in the slums of PWI if you’d like to continue, guys.

I’m not really arguing, I was actually just stating established facts.

1000rippedbuff,

As I mentioned way towards the beginning of the thread, I know Blauer is a legit instructor. I guess I was just surprised that he was doing the more watered down, “cerebral defense” thing these days. He used to be a lot more actively involved with the military and LEO communities. (Perhaps he still is…I’m not sure.) I remember his seminars being a lot more physical than what you indicated he does with Crossfit.

I don’t have a problem with him teaching the concepts about awareness, avoidance, midset, etc…but I can also see the other side of this which makes me wonder if he isn’t filling at least some of the students with a false sense of security. As you well know from your own training, everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face. I would just hate to see his instruction get watered down to the level of cardio-kickboxing.

I’m inclined to agree with FightingIrish on this one…if you are serious about defending yourself, then learn serious self defense. A seminar that is only a weekend long has no real business teaching people physical tactics. Best to keep it “cerebral” concepts for those types, IMO.

I believe the same.

I think it’s a good thing if you have an actual application for the training - LEO, military, etc. But if you’re a soccer mom…or soccer dad…no real use.
