Totally see your point and fully understand that people still function in a weight room without being completely physically whole. I just listed the injury as per my conversation. Even I tried to say something about him not working out but he wasnt in it for that. As the point has been made, there are MANY coaches who dont play the game and ex-pro athletes now that look like total shit. They are in it for the instruction it seems now, different then the physical goal. Glassman had several clients that were his “examples” not himself. So, yes, there are people out there “doing it” but honestly if we asked him he’d say “crossfit is too hard”

The quote I read from the Couch was that he could not work out the way he wanted to, so he quit.

Don’t take this as hating, he is my hero…gets drunk every day, has sex with hundreds of andro babes and is literally L. Ron Hubbard to ten’s of thousands of people. Shit is real.

But as for programming…OPT and a few others do a GREAT job, a lot of individual box’s do a GREAT job.

HQ however, is a joke.

The Russell’s and Saran need to die in a internet fire.

Exactly. Would I go to Glassman for business advice? I fuckin might lol. Would I ever listen to a word he says about training? Not likely. If you are going to teach someone how to do something, you need to have done it yourself at least to some significant capacity. I can promise you, you could find hundreds of CSCS certified bozos who would be all over telling Ed Coan how wrong he is about strength training.

Going to an out of shape fat fuck for training purposes (strongassmotherfuckers exempt) is similar to having your nutrition profile done by a Diabetic Fatass …

Doesnt make much sense, now does it ?

But he forged elite fitness…and made a lot of people a shit load of money.

And started his own religion.

Dude has some skills, athletically no…but skills none the less.

Did not want to start a thread to ask but, obviously you can be sued if you open a “crossfit” gym with out certification but, can you open up a gym called “Xfitness” and do the same shit?

Yes and Yes.

Dale Saran and Crossfit legal spend all day threatening people…that and trolling social media, it’s quite entertaining to watch actually.

It makes no sense to steal it really, all you have to do is take a class and get your level 1 cert. And BOOM you are a Crossfit coach, skilled in the arts of elite fitness.

Yep, and with all the various certs being held each weekend (Rowing, Running, jump-rope, L-1’s/L-2’s ect.) totals around 30 and each class having around 50 people…do the math.

BOOZE, MONEY, BITCHES!!

/team Glassman

they see him limpin’…they hatin’

Lol at that injury excuse.

If he walks with a limp, it’s because he was a lazy pussy and didn’t put work into rehab. Sean Livingston had both knees bend 30 degrees in the wrong direction and blew them completely up, but he came back to play professional basketball after the injury. So glassman is a brilliant salesman who also happens to be a colossal sack of shit.

Wasn’t he the guy they based American Hustle on?

Well that is just about right.

It was one knee, but the point remains.

I second that Glass man has amazing marketing skills. It also kind of sucks that he can’t “exercise how he likes” because of an injury. He was supposedly a good gymnast, wasn’t he?

I just don’t see this connection to church and cult…

just not getting it I guess…

I used to post on the Crossfit forums but stopped long ago after someone brought up NFL legend Jerry Rice and people said he may be fit but he likely would suck at Fran. Jeery Rice was a beast.

I said something about him doing it one time to get the gist of it then totally dominating on his second or maybe third attempt.

Also, anytime someone disagreed with anything there would be a row of sycophants saying that people shouldn’t complain because everything on the site was free.

Also, if you thought “My Jeans Don’t Fit” and other threads like that come up a lot here they would ask the same things again and again and again and again and again and again.

Also the undending “She could kick my ass!” as a compliment for every female Crossfitter got old pretty fast.

I’m an epidemiologist/biostatistician; my whole career is designing research studies, analyzing the data, and reporting the results. A crucial characteristic of a well-designed research study is having data collection forms that are open to as LITTLE interpretation as possible.
How does that work? Something like Company A contracts Company B (your company) to study the effects of something, and then you work from there?
Not quite. I work at a Research Institute that’s affiliated with a large hospital; most of our research is funded by grants from the government or charitable organizations, although there are some industry-funded studies as well.

Studies are generally initiated by scientists at the research institute (doing lab-based studies) or clinical researchers at the hospital (studies done with people). Someone that wants to design a study can consult me in the design phase (I wish they ALWAYS would, but sometimes they don’t, which can be a pain in the butt later if they haven’t designed something right) or bring me in later if they’ve already collected their data.

My salary is paid by the research institute, but people that need my services basically pay a chunk of my salary in exchange for some of my time. So if someone needs a statistician for the equivalent of one day a week, they can put me on the grant at 20% of my salary; if it gets funded, that money goes to the research institute to reimburse them for my salary.
Thanks for the explanation. Really just curious.
