There you go. Taken really quickly on my webcam. Anyways, this isn’t the point of the thread is for me to pull my pants down… hahahahahah… My whole point, was that leg training can take many forms but IMO (note use of this… AGAIN)… There is no point to do much other than just squats and pulls.[/quote]
I agree that squats and either deads or power snatches/cleans are the best things for building mass, BUT only if you have good recruitment of the leg muscles. Recruitment isn’t as much of a problem with squats (kinda tough to miss the quads with those, assuming you are actually hitting full reps). Squats have their own challenge with hitting ALL parts of the quads rather than creating imbalances based on stance. The posterior chain exercises are trickier- you can be a low back puller on deads or a “reverse curler” on power cleans, and those exercises won’t build mass effectively in, say, the hams/glutes.
So yes, IMHO squats and deads (or the oly lifts, which are not too far off from a dead as far as the way the work when done properly) are awesome mass builders- but only IF you feel your leg muscles working effectively on the lifts and aren’t just moving them weight from A to B. A beginner probably won’t have the recruitment down, and that’s where isolation work comes in. It’s necessary for a lot of lifters if they want to really get a lot (in terms of mass gain) out of heavy deads and squats. /rant
With that said, your legs look solid as fuck so keep doing what you’re doing. 29in sounds like a pumped measurement or something, but I fucking hate measurements anyway and regardless- those is some beast ass legs lol. Keep up the hard work, impressive shit going on there.
