Criticized About My Egg Habits...

The other night I mentioned to a colleague that I eat 12 eggs a day. The method is to take the yolk out prior to cooking add salt and pepper, mix then eat. I then cook the egg whites with a bit of butter and hot peppers, salt then eat. This fat woman told me that I am likely to get a heart attack by age 30 (now 23).

However, why is that most people fail to realize that what I am doing is actually very healthy and infinitely more healthy than lugging around the weight of a middle schooler in the form of fat cells?

ArggHHHHH!!!

Repeat after me: Some people are stupid! Getting all worked up over it is not going to help.

Personally, I consider 12 eggs per day to be right on the edge of excess. Variety is your friend.

Who cares? I get a kick out of watching the looks on peoples faces when they see the amount of food I eat. But if their criticism bothers you, just don’t talk about food, and definitely don’t waste your time trying to educate people. You can break out all kinds of facts and data and they’ll sit there and nod their heads and go right back to eating garbage and believing that eggs and every other form of protein is the devil.

you coulda stopped right there.

people ask me what my protein powder is i just tell them it’s my steroid powder, stand back cuz if any gets on you you might get HUGE

Try explaining why you’re taking some weird white powder (creatine) and some funny looking pills (fishoil)…

My response is “Google It!”

12 Eggs? You’re crazy, dude!

You eat yolks raw but cook the whites?

You’re peculiar to say the least…

I get crap for simply not eating sugary products.

Take home point, if people don’t care about their bodies, they’re naturally going to give you crap. Because they just don’t understand and/or because they’re jealous.

And with an issue like eggs, I think whenever an unhealthy dud sees a stud eating a ton of eggs, they THINK they can finally one up the person on a nutritional issue. Might give them some ridiculous sense of satisfaction.

I’ve gotten crap for eating tons of eggs as well. I eat six whites and six yolks a day. People always say that’s bad for me because of cholesterol, blah, blah, blah.

(even though no research has proven eggs raise cholesterol, quite the opposite in fact. Not to mention the importance of saturated fats in a testosterone production)

I just tell them I didn’t ask you to eat it. So go eat you’re sugar and high fructose corn syrup and we’ll see who ends up with high cholesterol.

Awesome!

12 eggs is a lot, I’d eat 10 but maybe once every 2 weeks! Every day is a touch excessive.
You eat 336 eggs a month, your a horse

Just do what I do… get used to it. :frowning:

This is leap year.

Eggs are fantastic. Eat lots and lots. Eat them raw, right in front of her. Then dribble a little yolk out your mouth and stare at her, and make zombie noises.

Back in my peak body-building days I use to eat 12 eggs every single morning for like two years. I kept two yolks in and the rest were whites. Some days I would have another 12 later in the day - I averaged around 120/week. I would cook them with cooking spray and add 1 cup of spinach and some flaked red pepper to them and eat them along with oats and fruit or something along that line. By the way, eggs were around $.70 a dozen back then. Funny thing is that back then I was relatively lean and muscular and now days I barely eat any and am sitting around 40lbs overweight. It wasn’t the eggs keeping me lean, it was the habits.

As far as people hasseling you: let the results speak for themselves and make sure to tell them about why you are doing it and the fact that you aren’t eating all the yolks, etc. Or even simplier would be to simply not tell them, as most will not understand - I spent so much time explaining it to people.

The OP eats the yolks.

Hmmm…baby bird.

If you look better than they do, their jealousy will come out and they will try to sabotage you any way they can…telling you how unhealthy you are and such. Its a way of lying to themselves, to pretend their healthy but you…the guy who looks good…isn’t. Just a little self deceit.

Yeah, i recently started eating my eggs poached. I heard from a number of credible sources in 150 of the worlds healthiest foods (Jonny Bowden) that poached is the healthiest.
I also get Omega3 eggs, which are amazingly good for you. So as 311 says “Fuck the nay-sayers.”

Eggs are also the most bio available protein ever.

Oh NO!

I eat 10 eggs a day…EVERYDAY.

Well, I won’t go one more second doing such a thing.

Thank GAWD I found this website!

Not really all that different from soft boiled or sunny side up.

12 eggs a day, whole, while on a bulk.
