Well that’s 25 cals per pound, which seems high to me, but he does run 5 miles a day, so maybe that’s necessary. I’d cut the running way back if possible. What’s the purpose of it?

I’m always interested why bodybuilders run at all. If your goal is to get bigger, running is the last form of cardio you will want to continue when you ARE bigger.

Joint issues of big guys aside, having excess cardio while trying to gain weight just makes the process harder.

Stop worrying about the numbers so much and just eat. If you’re gaining, keep at it, if you’re not add more of good quality food.[/quote]

I don’t understand where all these skinny kids got the idea that they need to “clean bulk” when they weigh under 200Lbs. Pro Bodybuilders have dirtier bulks. You realize how fast you can drop a LOT of fat right? You ever watch biggest loser? On the other hand, it takes YEARS and YEARS to add a good amount of muscle. Until you weigh over 200 Lbs or unless you just start piling on rediculous amounts of fat (i.e. you look like a fatass who doesn’t lift) then ditch the calculators.

Plan on 4-6 meals where you are taking protein, fat and carbs and jamming them down your throat untill you feel like you can’t put another bite in. If you finish your meal and you have room left, make a fucking PB&J sandwich and cram that down. Do this for 2-3 years and don’t even look back.

Again, unless you start to get obese (which you won’t, you’re skinny for a reaosn Mr high metabolism) this is the “FASTEST” way to add quality muscle. Once you crack 200Lbs you will not only look a lot better, but then you could go on a 3 month cut with extra cardio and some light calorie restriction if you think you are carrying too much fat. Then after that, MAYBE you could start calculating all the bullshit you did above.

Recap - normal big bulk diet and then 3 month cut will take you about 3 years to get “big” your way it will take you 6 years or longer and most likley you will never add any appreciable amount of muscle. And while you didn’t state your goals or anything, I’m just assuming most men want to be over 200 Lbs.

Great post, pretty much hits the nail on the head right there.

Hey guys, I run cause I used to be pretty fat and I’m scared I’ll put the fat back on basically and the second reason is I’ve run two marathons so I’m basically addicted to it now.

Every time you sit down for a meal, eat for a least half an hour. Don’t pay attention to anything else, other than eating for that half hour.

You WILL gain.

Along the lines of the post above, just focus on eating more. Don’t try to over-think it. Figure out what you typically eat on an average day, and plan to eat that as your “Base.” Add in one pound of ground beef to your Base and you’ll certainly gain. Cheap, easy, and most importantly you should have no problem making the transition because there is not much at all to think about. You do have to figure out what you’re already eating and plan to eat that though, but that’s not more than 5 minutes of planning to think back to what you ate today, and yesterday, etc.

I’d just like to add.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Ground Beef.

Here is how to properly prepare a taco dinner. This is in order of importance also.

#1 Buy Taco Holders. People don’t eat tacos because they are annoying, well with a taco holder they are not annoying. You line 4 up on your plate and tuff the fuckers up.

#2 Double Stuffed FTW! Buy your shells separate, not the kits. Buy a big box of hard shells and a couple packs of the soft shells (they come in little bags) AND buy refried beans and or avacadoes to make guacamole. Use the refried beans and or guac to spread over a soft shell, then wrap the soft shell around a hard shell and then place in the holder to await further assembly.

#3 Now that you have reinforced your shells, Load that sucker up with meat and cheese and veggies. Seriously Load it up high, then add all the good fixins, Sour cream, sauce, more cheese. You know what I’ll do, I’m going to make tacos tonight and i’ll take a picture of the finished product for you so you KNOW what it looks like.

HAHA looking forward to seeing it!

Double stuffed Tacos supreme. Soft shell slathered with homemade Guacamole, hard shell inside stuffed with beef, lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese, taco sauce and sour cream. A feast fit for a king.
