Critical to Progress/Development

SS Bar has been added to my ever expanding wishlist on Rogue…

There are a couple SSBs on craigslist in my area for $250. However, I can front squat and back squat just fine so I don’t really have a good reason to move away from the standard barbell. I’d rather get a fat bar for deads, rows, and pressing movements.

Bands are very useful indeed! I use them for warming up and priming targeted muscle groups, helped a lot with bringing my upper back thickness up to par.
Where do ya train in Ned?
I train in Schiedam, near Rotterdam. =)

Having done squats and front squats, I can say they don’t compare to the SSB in terms of how much they trash your upper back.

For the fat bar, I would just get a 2" galvanized steel pipe cut to 7’. That’s what I did, only cost $50.

I gotta give it up to the Safety Squat Bar too. I bought it instead of a trap bar and I’m glad I did. It’s a wonderful piece of equipment.

I personally feel it a lot in my abs, obliques and upper back more than a regular back squat.
