Did you go at midnight? Not always easy to get it done in a commercial gym although I made the effort of not using many barbell lifts, which makes it really complicated.
Haha no not at midnight, I went in the middle of the day! I found a great powerlifting/strongman type gym that had the kettlebells and everything I needed!
For my travels I always map out appropriate gyms nearby and meal delivery services if I can’t pack enough meals. For longer trips I generally stay at hotels with mini kitchens where I can cook the meals as well.
I’m not gonna lie, that does look freaking awesome. You are right about mid-day… haven’t been in a commercial gym in a while but now I remember that between 1 and 3 or 4 it’s pretty empty.
Are you super tall, cause that looks like a regular deadlift even on that axel
Haha I’m fairly tall, hence the shift and much better performance in Strongman compared to my powerlifting days. I no longer have to bench press 5 miles with my long arms ![]()
My head trainer (Tom Sheppard, who also writes for T-nation) just did a video about bench pressing for people with long arms in collaboration with elitefts.

C3. KB Swing: 50 lbs
D. Zercher Squat Hold: 185
E. Bulgarian Split Squat Iso-Hold: used the Bulgarian split squat machine, easier on the knee and awesome for iso holds

It depends what you are looking for. Montreal is full of great gyms but they all have their own style.

Here in London, UK this week and found an awesome gym that had a turf area for me to do both the Prowler and Sled work! Energym for anyone in the area or visiting.
Meals all prepped for me by Fit Eat UK who I can’t recommend enough!! I got the bodybuilding VIP package and they even customized to my exact needs.
Pretty damn happy with my conditioning given I just came off a NPC show and immediately went into world travel mode for work. Most would have ballooned up I think but this program is keeping me leaner while filling out
