Sounds like fun until you realize that it’s impossible to comfortably fit two people into these tiny-ass dorm beds, lol. There’s a reason I ended up with

Conjugate W2D4 - Conditioning

12 Minutes of Kalsu (36 Thrusters)
15 Minutes Easy Air Bike (4.76 Miles)

If I’m being honest with myself, I’ve been half-assing conditioning lately. Too much easy steady-state stuff, not enough sprints and intervals. Although it’ll end up being more or less a moot point once my actual wrestling practices start.

Kalsu was too heavy for me. Would probably work better with 105 or 115 to get the intended stimulus.

Conjugate: W2D5 - DE Lower

DE Box Squats (6): 10x2 EMOM @ 185
Speed Pulls: 10x1 EMOM @ 225
Decline RDL’s (2): 225x8/9/8
NG Chins: 17/11/10
Prone Hamstring Curls: 90x10/9/8
Back Extensions: +45x16/14/13
Decline Sit-Ups: BWxF

Pulled my last DE rep double-overhand, and held it until grip failed. Direct grip work is something I haven’t done in too long - I pulled 385 with hook grip before getting straps, when my max was 405. Everything else went smooth.

Conjugate: W2D6 - Conditioning

15 Rounds
Every 2:30, Schwinn Air Bike Sprint 0.33 Miles

Fastest Round: 0:37 (32 MPH)

This gets awful quickly, and stays there once the sprints start taking longer and the rest starts getting cut as a result.

Worth noting that I woke up today with some profoundly awful hamstring/glute/low back DOMS, which I guess is a good sign that I’m conjugate-ing properly.

Another day of next to no sleep, so o didn’t get as heavy as I would’ve liked on squats. Balancing college-ing and recovery is going to take a bit of doing, it looks like. Beyond that, though, a pretty solid day. Going on a date at another BBQ restaurant tonight, too.

My man, didn’t you just get to college like 2 weeks ago? You’ve got the lovers lining up lol. I think you should credit BTM for the raw sex appeal you seem to be breaking hearts with :joy::joy::joy:

Patience has never been my strong suit, lol. In fairness, I have some catching up to do after 18 years closeted.

“5x5 squats, power shrugs, a pound and a half of beef a day, and 12 eggs” is now going to be my go-to dating advice. Can’t think of many problems it wouldn’t solve.

I married a girl that I had been dating since we had both just turned 16. I literally took her out the first weekend after I got my drivers license. I am in absolutely not place to critique anyones youthful dating life, I just laugh at how well it goes for some.

Also, I very much want to save

I feel like this should be saved and used every time another off topic thread pops up about how dating is impossible and unfair. Do this, and boom. Dates.

And hey, If not, better to be jacked and lonely than scrawny and lonely, right?

That’s honestly awesome, man. Good job : )

I love those sorts of threads so much, purely because of how badly derailed they always get. It’s been a while since the site has gotten something truly awful, I think. We’re overdue for it.

I deserve very little credit in the entire situation. I was a cocky jock who liked to raise some hell, she was just a feisty hot blooded Italian who quickly called me on my shit and basically made me get my act together lol. She’s been calling the shots ever since, I just write the checks :joy::joy:

Congrats on coming out.

Seems like you’re crushing it academically, socially, and in the gym. Anything you can’t do? haha

Thanks!

I did it right before my senior season of wrestling. Was sort of worried that the team would take it weirdly or that I’d be shooting myself in the foot in terms of getting voted captain, but - credit to them - they were great over it.

I know I’ve only been on it for two weeks now, but I don’t think I’m actually strong enough yet to get much out of conjugate. Speed-benching 115 pounds seems idiotic, and I think at this point I need more hard/heavy sets and fewer/no singles.

I like 5/3/1. And @SvenG has pretty much proven at this point that it can be run indefinitely. I’m thinking something like this for now:

Sat: Bench 5’s PRO PR Set
5x5 @ SSL SS DB Rows
Arms/Shoulders

Sun: Squat 5’s PRO Set
5x5 @ SSL SS Chins
Leg Extns/Low Back Extensions

Tue: Press PR Set
5x5 @ SSL Press, Clean Each Rep
Arms/Shoulders

Thur: DL PR Set
Chin/Back Extensions/Hamstring Curls

And obviously, conditioning keeps going. And on those days too. I’ll use these TM’s (all ~85%)

S: 295
B: 180
D: 385
P: 150

You would love 5/3/1 PR Sets and Widowmakers!

@tlgains

That sounds like a pretty badass setup - the widowmakers in BTM got pretty awful, lol. I might try that in a cycle or two. It’s definitely something I want to try sooner or later.

5/3/1 W1D1: Bench

5’s Bench: 5x115/135, 13x155 (PR)
SSL Pause Bench: 5x5 @ 135
DB Rows: 5x10 @ 90 (PR)
Machine Preacher Curls: +55x13/10/8/7
Seated Laterals: 12.5x21/18/17

One of the neat parts of lifting here is that there’s a much more impressive cohort than in the Y. I worked in with a 565 squatter yesterday, and the guy on the next bench over today was hitting fives with 315. We’ll see if I can pick up some gains through osmosis. I have a bunch of art history work to get through this evening, then date #2

Other than a 6 week stint of super squats, I’ve been running 5/3/1 for the past 1.5 years straight. I think you will like it if that’s the route you go as well! Nice PR on bench as well dude!

5/3/1 W1D2: Squat

5’s PRO Squat: 5x195/225/250
SSL Squat: 5x5 @ 225
Assorted Chins: 5x10
Leg Extensions: 140x15/14/12
Back Extensions: BWx100 (Rest-Pause in Machine)

Pretty solid session, especially given I squatted two days before. I want to see how stupidly high I can get my reps on back extensions - one of my HS coaches was big on the idea that they helped with holding a wrestling stance for a long time.
