I would recommend having a nosey online to see what you can get second hand. I was able to get a pulse star pulldown, preacher curl and shoulder press for a grand from a gym that closed down. Got the technogym knee rehab machine for cheap too. All in great working order. At the other end of my HG ive a half rack now. Id also recommend getting rubber coated tri grip weight plates and a good quality non rust powerbar. The cast iron plates i got years ago rusted in no time.
Thats an awesome deal and thanks for the idea.
We also have a thread somewhere on here titled (I think) letās see your home gym and it has a lot of cool pictures. You might could draw some inspiration from that
Thanks man. Ill definitely be checking that out. I tend to take forever when choosing new items, so that wil help
That big of a space with that kind of money? You are not really limited. I put my entire set up together back in 2016 for like 750. Squat rack. Olympic bar. Bumper weights. Dumbells. Mats. Bands. Even had a treadmill back then
Since the covid closures, gym equipment has nearly doubled in price, but it can certainly be done cheap. @Luis5905 mentioned he cares about safety and quality so price kind of has to go up quite a bit.
My setup (picture above) costed $5000 and that was less than half price because i found an overseas company that looks like the primary manufacturer of Hammer Strength equipment⦠like i hauled my setup from a shipping port in LA to get those prices.
Just providing some insight, but your are correct that the budget and space allows for basically whatever OP could want
Plus finding used stuff, let alone at anything but absurd prices, was a real challenge. I keep thinking that with gyms open again in California that Iāll find deals on used gym equipment but I havenāt so far (at least for the items Iām looking for).
Good luck! Iāve been searching around SoCal and havenāt found much. A few items here or there but they are usually well beat up if the price is āreasonableā
Thatās cool man. Did you meet any shady characters or get into any crooked dealings down on the docks?
Thereās always ill shit happening at ports in the movies.
No shady characters, but thatās because I brought my bois Lucca and Pauly D. with me.
/s/
In all honesty, the whole thing was shady AF⦠I was about 30% sure I was going to get scammed the whole way through, but it panned out! lol
I think Rogue now makes a GHR and RH combo. Iāve always thought that looked cool.
Yup:
Only $2k, haha.
The attachments I was talking about:

But yes, I kind of wish I had that GHR and RH setup⦠just not for $2k lol
EDIT:
I am also pretty good at metal modifications due to work related stuff, so Iāll be the person to take a piece of equipment and modify the shit out of it so it works for what I need it to work for. Iām a tinkerer ![]()
45 degree back raise, glute/ham bench, reverse hyper or some combo? This is a tough one! All three are pretty cool, I guess Iāve used the back raise the most.
To add to the confusion, there is also a glute/ham pad, without that bench, that you just stick up against the wall for like $300.
And for health and mobility, with a big budget, Iād probably get some kind of neutral grip bar. Maybe like this to work into the rotation to keep shoulders/elbows happy.

In honor of Louie Simmons, Iād also have a bunch of chains in my home gym. You hang them on the bar and they get lighter at the bottom, so you donāt crush yourself in a vulnerable position, then they get heavier at the top of the lift, so youāre not wasting your time with light weights.
Allegedly, this would let you maintain Mobility and Strength by letting you continue use ābig,ā āfull ROMā or ācompoundā lifts as you get old.
Check out this dude with like 300 pounds on the floor and 600 at lockout.
And you can do notoriously damaging moves like flies, curls and extensions without the extreme stretch/stress at the bottom.
Theyāre also bad ass for adding weight to body weight moves like dips, chins, lunges, etc
Itās sold out right now, but I bought this GHD from Rep and am very happy with it.
Ohh you. And I thought the only band us crayon eaters listened to was Megadeath!
I love Megadeth.
Nice setup, I second that, get on Facebook marketplace, lots of people give up after a few months to years and sell on decent gear
I have a home gym with more choices of equipment to work out, but my favorite pieces are the power racks. You can look at them and decide on some of these pieces of equipment because they are really of top quality. I adore them.
