I highly doubt they are testing for elevated levels of creatine. You might want to stop smoking weed though.

they wont test for it maybe creatanine the waste byproduct but still no matter that can be elevated from hard training and eating a high protein diet it aint unlawful

Phill

ok thats good to kno thxs

I’m not sure if I’m appropriate for me to mention this - but one way companies test urine for over-dilution is to measure the creatinine levels.

Creatinine is product of broken-down creatine.

I’ll let you conclude what you will.

In order for that to be significant a trace of any other substance they are actually looking for would need to be present. You can’t dilute out a substance 100%.

Well…yeah. Do you think they test for the presence of a single THC (or, more precisely, the metabolites) molecule? They use a pretty basic assay, diluting yourself by drinking tons of water is an age-old way of getting your concentrations of badillegalthings below the thresholds. The problem with dilution is that they test for various other natural substances (like, say, creatinine) and if those are too low you either fail or get retested.

What I’m saying is that creatine supplementation will increase your urine creatinine concentrations, which might let you dilute your urine more than you might be able to otherwise. Throw in some B-vitamins and broccoli/asparagus for color and you could get away with it.

You know. Hypothetically. I think drug testing is ridiculous as it is.

Am I missing something here? I never thought that creatine was something which sports (or other) authorities were in any way concerned about. I regard it in the same light as protein powder.

Am I wrong?

Yeah I agree with Isr. Since when was creatine banned by a sport? It’s produced naturally and it comes from red meat. Not to mention that creatine is often refered to as the most tested supplement in existence.

Im thinking the topic creator is one of those people who think creatine is a steroid, believe it or not many people think that.

Yeah you’re probably right. My friends used to think it was.

Do you think testing labs normalize the results based the level of creatinine in the urine?

What I’m getting at is, will having higher than normal levels of creatinine in your urine (because on taking creatine) cause the test to over estimate drug levels in your urine?

i know that creatine is not a steroid i was just asking if i would fail a drug test from having to much of it in my system

Yo, lots of employers and law enforcement personnel want to know the levels of amino acids in the systems of prospective employees, and individuals in the system. It’s really important for them to know.

If your taking BCAAs you’re really screwed.

if your pissing out amino acids you better get yourself checked

Sarcasm.

First off, why in the hell would anyone care about a persons creatine levels? I only tell my Dr. that I supplement with creatine when I take a blood test so he can anticipate high creatinine levels, and that has never occured.

Additionally, if you need to worry about Creatine levels in your system, why wouldn’t you worry about other amino acids as well? Especially BCAAs, which a lot of are supposed to be taken. Glutamine could be a serious worry also, should one supplement with that as I do.

I thought the original query was moronic, so I attempted to answer it with sarcasm. Apparently unsuccessfully.
