Creatine & cutting

Hey guys I have been reading some of the old forms and was wondering what everyone’s opinion is about using Creatine in post-workout shake when CUTTING? The old posts seem to all conflict so I am looking to generate a more conclusive answer!

In my personal experience I’ve used creatine in cutting. I just dumped a scoop of plain old micronized creatine into my surge and it worked fine for me. Granted I’m not trying to get super shredded for a bodybuilding show or anything but as far as getting ripped for the beach and still taking the creatine it works just fine.

i use 5 grams of creatine in every surge shake i drink. your muscle needs it regardless of what type of body composition goal you have. You might want to go off of it if you want to dump water though considering it saturates your muscles with the much needed water. I would only do that for a contest or photoshoot but i’m not an expert as far as that issue goes with timing. laters pk

Cappx, creatine will not inhibit fat loss. If you start taking creatine at the same time you start your diet, it does make it difficult to determine how much weight is being lost each week.

guess I worded my question poorly, but I did get somewhat of an answer. It was the water retention issue I am concerned about in regards to seeing how well training and dieting are doing for me. Tampa has more or less answered that…but anything you guys can add would be great!

Well its true creatine will increase your water retention but it wont be enough to make you look bloated or fat. It shouldn’t hinder your shredding progress too much.

However the only reason creatine is a good choice is strength+endurance+size, and i persume thats why you are using it. I recomend you use something like tribex and M instead as test slashes body fat and reducing estrogen gives you a firmer look anyway. This way you dont have to worry about any water retention:)

Samsmarts…thanks for advice, I already use Tribex and Redkat since I have very low T-levels (just recently stopped M) I am going to add Hotrox just as an added push…thanks again. So your suggesting creatine if I read correctly right?

Samsmarts has it right. Creatine wouldn’t inhibit fat loss, but for money well spent, androgen support is the better option.

Creatine isnt bad if you were already on creatine before you started cutting, however if you plan to start it at the same time as you start cutting your progress will be hard to calculate as yes there will be some water retention.

So go ahead continue using it, if you were on it before starting the diet and shredding. However if you were not on it before the diet dont start taking it. As it might make your shredding progress(as your numbers and measurements might be effected by the creatine) not look so impressive due to the slight retention.
