Prolonged use of any drug/medication/foreign substance that needs to be metabolized by the liver can possibly have adverse effects on it. The consumed item itself may not directly cause negative side effects on the liver, but that doesn’t matter if your liver is continually working overtime to metabolize a foreign substance.
I don’t know anything about the medication you’re on, but it sounds like you’ve been on it for a long time, which could possibly have caused your liver to be malfunctioning the way it is now.
