Long story short my E2 spiked really high when I first started TRT a couple years ago. It was 45 or something along those lines.
We have tinkered with my protocol some as you can imagine and I normally injected 0.5 test twice a week. I was also taking 0.5 mg arimadex (half a pill) once a week which kept me at a decent E2 level (25-ish). Pretty common protocol.
Well I decided to drop my test dosage down to see if I would still feel good at 0.4 test twice a week with the same arimadex dosage and I crashed my E2 to single digit numbers lol.
Since then I have upped my test dosage back up to my normal 0.5 and I have quit taking the arimdex to let the E2 recover. How long does that recovery typically take?
PS I have learned the hard way what low E2 feels like. I can literally fall asleep any time of the day because my fatigue is so bad.
Ps I also have taken HCG the entire time too to keep my nuts working. All good there. After 2 years it seems the hardest thing to control is that E2!
It shouldn’t take long at all as all the estrogen is still circulating within your body for the most part. Arimidex does not lower your estrogen. It attaches to the aromatase enzyme so that it cant bind to testosterone and convert it. Once the arimidex is terminated the aromatase can then attack your Testosterone and convert more to estrogen. This causes a rebound effect in the body and can drastically increase your E2 levels. Aromasin is a suicidal aromatase inhibitor. It attaches to the aromatase enzyme and essentially “kills it”. It takes longer to get back to normal if you use aromasin because your body literally has to create more aromatase enzyme which then has to slowly convert testosterone into estrogen. I would imagine that one injection of testosterone and within 7 days you should be back to normal if not with elevated estrogen levels. With aromasin crash they say anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks.
I wasn’t really having terrible high e2 symptoms. We just wanted to fend off any gyno/bloating because that was a big fear of mine when I first started this journey but probably didn’t need it. I have been taking the adex for almost the entire time though and felt fine. The low E2 bad side effects started when I lowered the Test dose and kept the same Arimadex dose. If that even makes sense…
Dude you have your answer. You can’t Chase numbers with e2. I did that and did what you did kept crashing my e2 because I kept reading I should be in low 20s. That’s BS. I feel great my e2 in mid 30s.
You usually know if you get gyno by itchy nipples.
Once I stopped messing with ai after a few weeks my e2 went to where it goes and I feel fine.
If your t is 400 and e2 at 35. Yes probably not good. But if t near 700 at trough and e2 at 35 different story.
Depending on your numbers you can reduce dosage a bit to bring down e2 if you get symptoms.
Absolutely love it man. Just like I need to read a good self-help book every few months or listen to a new podcast to get back on track at work, I needed this reminder about chasing E2. Will stop taking my arimadex and see how I feel over the next couple of months. Thanks brotha.
Side note for the last few weeks I couldn’t figure out my face. It was as oily as a 14 year old going through puberty. Hoping as my E2 levels back up my face will go back to being less oily as it has been forever. Previous poster (thanks for your feedback as well) said it might only take a week for my E2 to bounce back to a normal level. That sound right?
First you didn’t tell us your dosage of Test you gave us volumes. You could be on 100mg per week or 200mg per week, we don’t know. The E2 you listed is not that high especially in the presence of high test levels. If you don’t have high E2 symptoms then don’t take an AI. Crashed E2 can take months to recover from. I’ve done it twice and it’s a beeyotch
I saw in your other thread your t was over 900. So an e2 near 40 may be fine. Go by symptoms. I had bloat thought it was e2 cause I want in the 20s but it was actually from my diet.
Dont worry boss your good to go. Like @anon10230041 said… no ai. None at all. Ever again. 40. 45. Whatever. Your good to go. If you really start to notice sides from e2 #1 get tested sensitive e2. #2 lower testosterone dose. #3 no ai. Dont be scared of estrogen. Estrogen good. Estrogen no bad. It controls your joint health. Cognitive function. Sexual health. And on and on. Dont let any of these people tell you other wise. If you can get away with it which it sounds like you can then ditch the ai and never look back. Your body will stabilize.
Fellas. My face has also been very red lately. More than normal. Again it’s been 2 years on TRT and never really had a problem with flush face. Also my body temperature at noon today when I donated blood was 97.8. I just took my temp and it’s 96.9 and I feel like my face is on fire.
Can this be attributed to me crashing my E2? Or is this going to be an iodine/thyroid discussion…
Yes. Sounds like low e2. I got hot flashes too. Especially at night laying down.
The temps. Once you stay on the same protocol for at least 4 weeks it should be better. Your hormones are not stable at the moment. If not better you can take labs.
