Cortisol Reduction

I’m surprised there are no ‘prescription’ cortisol inhibitors like there are steroids and other prohibited compounds. Or am I missing something? Have they just not been able to synthesize and effective compound to seriously reduce cortisol?

steroids ARE a prescription strength method to inhibit cortisol…

I am not sure if there are any non-steroidal cortisol inhibitors. there are lots of crap herbal blockers but i don’t think they do much.

It would be a huge advantage to have an optimal cortisol lowering drug. For now I just use the combo of Vit C, Glycine and Phospatidyl serine post workout. It works alright but I am always open to something better.

But if cortisol was lowered TOO much, wouldn’t it affect muscle growth due to decreased repair?

Maybe I don’t know shit about cortisol (I’m being serious) but doesn’t the inflammation it causes help with repair to some extent?

Let me know if I’m way off base, hormones aren’t my area of specialty, yet.

With your in-law issues, I’d put my money on mid-40s.

What I would give for a cortisol blocker… I can tell my cortisol levels are screwed up. I wake up groggy, have insomnia. I have fat ONLY around my mid section. I have striations other places, upper back, shoulders arms legs, and a tiny gut. SIGH.

Exactly. I don’t think they do either. Steroids certainly have a big impact.

Cortisol can certainly be too low. Just like estrogen can be too low. But for a competition, for example, it would be helpful in the shorterm to get both lower than is actually healty.

I think the big benifit would be a method of controlling cotisol post cycle (when it is going nuts from the sudden removal of the high dose gear)…right now the best we can do is a test stasis period to sort of ease our way through it.
