Corrective Lifting Advice

I’m unsure of what to do or really how to diagnose something bilateral like this… But there’s obviously an imbalance going here my left pec is larger than my right pec, I experience no pain in my shoulders though.

I’ve been strictly dumbbell pressing for the past 4 months as well and often feel a much greater pump in my right triceps when I do any sort of pressing movement. I can only attribute it weakness of my right pec…

Any advice / diagnoses?

the real issue is that you’re way too small to be freaking out over something like this. come back to us when you have a real imbalance. honestly fomr this picture its not that big of a deal.

I really dont think you need to worry about it.

When I started out, I had these little “imbalances” that pissed me off too. My reccomendation: Focus on compounds, and make sure you’re moving the barbells/dumbells evenly. No rocket-science here, just make sure you’re not doing all the moving with one side or another. Where I’m at now, I can no longer spot any visible imbalance(left side of upper body is still a few, unnoticeable % weaker than right).

Thanks all for the feedback. I am definitely focusing on movements and will continue to; I train with a modified conjugate template. I just wanted to catch something before it turned into an issue later on.

Acelement, size is not the issue here, I’m worried about mechanics… If I’m 170, 200, 220 the way I move the weight will still be the same, I merely used the picture to point out the fact that not only does the movement feel different, but there is visable differences in hypertrophy.

I push 100-110 DBs and have almost a year old flat bench max of 255 that hasn’t been tested again since I came home from training with the USMC, I’m not really a newb per say.

your whole right shoulder looks closer to your body than your left shoulder, i could be way off, but i’d just check (yourself, if you have any body awareness you can prob see the differences in movement patterns in the mirror etc) for any differences in internal/external rotation on your left vs right

i have a similar problem but much more developed as i had nasty shoulder problems on the one side and i’m working hard to get it fixed…so far, doing extra for right side, tonnes of activation + proper stretching, making sure that every set is symetrical etc seems to be helping but i’ve got a fair ways to go

-for me it turned out my whole shoulder, pec, and that side of my back (scapular support/stabiliity and everythign) was not nearly as developed as the other side…

it was hard feeling like i’m starting over since the strength was not there, but so far pain is decreasing, mobility, posture and strength is slowly coming, but i’ve still got a fair ways to go…and then its just keep getting bigger and stronger from there

Yeah, I honestly will just have to continue working out the issue with foam rolling and stretching… I just wanted to avoid a ignoring the issue any further.

Foam rolling, strengthening my external rotators on my right side, stretching my right pec, and activating my lower traps seem to be in order.

Anything besides wall slides, and prone cobras help with activation? Also, when performing wall slides how should I feel the movement… I feel like I’m just moving my arms really.
