Coronavirus - What Happened?

Perhaps Americans could put to use all those hoarded guns and start a proper revolution?

It’s a shitty bill, but his comment is equally dumb.

People really need to read the lyrics in English.

I just received an email from HR telling us to carry our personalized official transit letter from the company, in case we are stopped or questioned by law enforcement, as proof of our essential employment.

I don’t even know what to say, man.

With which part do you disagree?

The part about having to show my papers, Comrade.

I was asking about Massie’s comment.

Honestly the way you write I agree with H factor when reading the post being referred to here.

“Lying” is a statement of intent. Gates doesn’t have to be lying if China is lying, he could believe what he’s saying.

I haven’t read the stimulus bill enough to know whether I agree with Massie or not yet. However, rich people generally have a much easier time multiplying money than people making it from scratch. This is generally true regardless of asshole status or not. It’s simple leverage.

This I disagree with, as well as the mindset that seems to be behind it, which seems to think that we are all beholden to “the rich” and effectively feudal serfs. Not knowing your mindset while writing I am not sure if you feel this way, but I do not.

The part about this being a transfer of wealth from the common folks to the super rich particularly Wall Street and bankers.

The $1,200 is a wealth transfer to the “common folk”. If you pay less than $1,200 in federal income taxes you’re getting money that wasn’t yours to begin with. If you pay more than $1,200 you’re essentially getting a tax credit and if you make more than the phase out then you’re just paying for it. It’s a progressive wealth transfer not a regressive one.

A significant portion of the bill includes loans for small businesses that employ about 48% of the employed in this country (depending on the definition of small business). These are generally not wealthy Wall Street banker types.

The money set aside for large businesses are loans that are required to be paid back. That’s not a wealth transfer at all.

Yes, a lot of the bill is pork spending, but not geared towards the wealthy on Wall Street, but Congressional pet projects. I’m not sure why he’s not tweeting about that (maybe he is).

*Plus a substantial increases to unemployment (definitely not a transfer of wealth to the rich).

And yet you are here.

Despite all those millions of guns stockpiled to be used against government tyranny

2020’s still young.

It wasn’t the fed’s either.

Besides, it is all borrowed money anyway.

And we’re seeing, for better or worse, how hard it is to control the US population of 330 million.

It also helps that the overwhelming majority of people are on board with what is being asked of us.

“Oh you guys didn’t start an armed revolution when your government was figuring out a pandemic response on the fly? Lotta good those guns did. Guess you don’t love freedom after all.“

This. I’ve never figured out @zecarlo’s point when he brings up NYC’s stop-and-frisk policy, and @loppar’s comment wasn’t any better.

I’m not him, but I’d imagine the principles in this article are related to his comment: How Inflation Helps Keep the Rich Up and the Poor Down | Mises Institute

Yes, I really believe the lizard people are trying to infect Batman. 100% serious.

That is another possibility, but considering who he is I would expect him to be better informed on this than pretty much anyone. And furthermore, what benefit is it to China to lie at this point? When it first started, sure they didn’t want people to know because it would have damaged trade. But we are well beyond that now.

Not quite, but the system depends on big businesses and rich people to spend money for others to get paid. Otherwise nobody would be talking about bailing out corporations, correct?

That wasn’t what I was talking about and you know it.

“You don’t see that I’m not thinking that at all?“

Said in response to my comment about you saying Gates and China may be in league together. That’s what you said less than 24 hours ago. Now you’re trying to be like oh yeah lizard people and batman.

You’re doing the same thing over and over and hoping people don’t notice. Feel free to stay things people call you out on all day long. Just stop trying to deflect when called out would be best for all. You just aren’t fooling anyone man.

I will read it when I can. It will be interesting to see how he tird inflation to regressivr wealth transfer.

You’re not very bright it seems. My point is that China must be telling the truth at this point because even Bill Gates, who is not a Chinese communist asset last I checked, is giving them credit for being open about the situation and is quoting their data. So if he is lying to cover the Chinese government then something is wrong, and if he is being lied to and believing every word then he isn’t really much use at all.

I’m not trying to fool anybody. I thought I already clarified my position on this but you seem to have a hard time understanding it. Now I have spelled it out for you above. If I thought Bill Gates or whoever was intentionally misleading and manipulating people then I would say so, but I do not. I think that there might be some corporations and people trying to take advantage of the situation and the bailout, but that is another story.
