Why would China continue to lie about the data at this point? There is no good reason for that, it can’t benefit them in any way. No, they don’t have a good track record, but this is a different situation and if they did keep lying then the virus would keep spreading in China and all their trading partners would be getting real pissed off.
I’m tired of helping you. Enough people have replied to you on this.
“It makes you wonder, with conspiracy theorists pointing fingers at Bill Gates (among others), if he is in a league with the Chinese to deceive the world.“
Believe whatever you want. Other people have filled in enough of this for you. Make your own decisions. Maybe I’m just naive to all the inner workings of the League of Shadows.
Yes, finally you understand. Anything posted by an online conspiracy theorist must be true, and Bill Gates is either lying or has no idea what he is talking about.
People say that Americans generally have a poor sense of humour, I’m starting to think there is really something to that.
I honestly cant understand how anybody could have thought that, or the comment about Gates working with the Chinese “to deceive the world” was serious. I was just trying to inject a little bit of humour into a dry and gloomy subject. But no, I must have been dead serious and now I’m trying to pretend I was joking because someone doesn’t agree. You guys are weird.
You’re an absolute idiot with this shit. Pretty much the only one posting conspiracy theories in this thread has been you. People (throughout the thread) have pointed out why you’re wrong. Now you default to “can’t believe they took me serious.”
Damn dude it really is obvious what you’re doing and it’s getting pathetic. I’d have much more respect if you owned something when called out than I do when you pretend it’s everyone else taking what you said the wrong way.
The PPL loan that the CARES act has made available to me will 100% save my company from going under, will allow me to retain 100% of my employees at 100% of their salaries. And it will be forgiven at the end of the 8 week period because I will retain all employees following it.
I don’t know much about the CARES act aside from the stuff I researched that affects me, but I can tell you that this specific thing is a BIG deal. In my case, were it not for this loan being available, my 40 year old company would cease to exist. Because of it, I only take a minor hit on business. I don’t profit from it, but I basically just hit the pause button on business for 2 months.
Seriously going to keep doing this huh? This is like when Zeb got caught with two accounts. Just a bad look man. I don’t care what you confess to. Everyone can read the thread for themselves.
What will be the next installment in Chris says something weird and how will it play out? Here’s an exciting preview. Chris shares something weird. He talks back and forth about it for a while with multiple people. Then after enough people have said it’s a dumb take he will say “god damn you dumbasses thought I was serious?!”
That’s the problem, the way things are set we have to bail out wall street and big corporations or small businesses and regular people will get screwed over. But what is the alternative? Nationalize everything? It’s a difficult situation.
So what are you accusing me of actually believing? That the CDC simultaneously recommends flu shots while claiming they don’t work, and that Bill Gates is “in a league with the Chinese to deceive the world”?
I don’t know how you can even take yourself seriously.
to clarify: are you calling the Covid situation a bailout? I don’t consider it to be that. A bailout is when a company does something stupid/shitty/some sort of thing they didn’t have to do, and then they get a do-over with federal money. That’s not what this is.
Just so you’re aware the actual statements made are far less embarrassing than what you’re doing now.
You really should let this sink in. If you think I’m an idiot at least listen to what others say? It will save everyone time.
“This is why I can’t take you seriously. You say things like this repeatedly and then a few posts later say you were just joking, or just wondering out loud, or whatever.”
That’s why you’re going to find overwhelming support among conservatives for “big government bailouts” like this. The last bailout was a product of human policy decisions.
I’m a total budget hawk and have been calling for government involvement during this crisis. There’s no inconsistency, you can’t demand businesses shut by government fiat and then send them no help. Anyone who thinks this is inconsistent is wrong.
I want businesses who have spent years building themselves up to survive the quarantine, and I’ll shout it from the rooftops if I need to.
Exactly and so many of these people don’t understand all of the trust that goes into building that up and how important it is to keep things solvent for businesses small and large alike. It is a huge web of human relationships with all of the trust issues that go into it, which are reflected in benign little business details like payment terms.
Keep it all alive because the demand should spring right back up once we come out of hiding.
You can call it what you want, but the bottom line is that we are in a situation where governments around the world are giving huge sums of taxpayers’ money to corporations. It might be the only way to avert total disaster, but it’s still unfortunate.
