Could anyone really believe that the CDC would simultaneously claim that the flu shot doesn’t work while telling people to take flu shots? You would have to be totally delusional to believe that.
You might not agree with my concerns, maybe the virus is actually the end of the world and shutting down the economy is no big deal, but I’m not saying anything out of the ordinary with regards to either.
Nobody can realistically claim that it will be over in a month. 6 months sounds like a bit much, but at least they are preparing for a worst case scenario where it drags on and on. Like you say, we just have to wait and see, but it will be a couple months at the least. Look at Wuhan, things are just opening up now but the government took drastic measures there, apparently including welding doors shut. We can’t expect to end it faster than them because we aren’t totally trampling over all human rights, so just watch how it goes there and expect a few weeks more at the least. The US might be worse off now due to the number of cases and places with no shutdown measures.
They is the same they who ordered the shutdown, and ending the shutdown while a bunch of people are still infected makes no sense right now. It should be obvious, otherwise all this will have been for nothing.
And the same people who claim China is lying about numbers, like Trump. Either China is telling the truth, which seems quite likely considering that Wuhan is opening back up, or them and Bill Gates and the lizard people are behind this.

Of course it doesn’t make sense. But you said the infection rate has to be near zero for them to end the shutdown. A claim based on nothing at all. No countries have all handled this the exact same way. They won’t handle the end the same way either.
Maybe the lizard people are behind this. I don’t know for sure. Maybe China, Obama, Soros, and Bill Gates are all in on it. Wouldn’t be my first thought, but I can’t speak for all.

Not entirely.
The problem with trying to bluff their way through what is actually going on in Wuhan are the number of U.S. companies/manufacturers that are dependent on the area (particularly electronic components). That is not to say that an authoritarian government can’t find a way to bluff…but it would be much more difficult as the U.S. manufactures look at actual output coming from the area.
My guess? Things have improved…but not to the extent that the Chinese would like to make it seem.

Why would Bill Gates be taking them seriously then and saying they are open? I don’t think China has anything to gain from lying about the situation at this point, and things really are opening up in Wuhan. I know they don’t have the highest credibility, but I think they just might be telling the truth at this point. And if not, then Bill Gates is up to some sort of diabolical scheme, which I hope is not the case.
I guess Bill could legit believe the things he is saying? I see Bill Gates as someone who genuinely wants to help the world by his past actions (he is currently the second largest philanthropist ever after Buffet).

Why is this “hush money”? There will be a surge in people on the day of the Qing Ming festival. Everyone goes to “clean” the graves of their relatives. The officials simply want to avoid everyone coming out on the same day.

Whatever happens, some rich assholes are looking for a way to get richer off of it. The problem is that we live in a society dependant on the crumbs of these people.
International relationships are not so “black-and-white”…and it’s called “diplomacy”.
“Open” does not mean complete trustfulness…and when it comes to the Chinese “open” is extremely relative.
Gates (who actually knows a thing or two about diplomacy as the previous head of an International Corporation), most likely knows the extent of Chinese “openness” and is willing to accept what those limits are.
