I don’t understand what you don’t understand about a simple article like that. Which part of the article claimed that the statement Rogan made was false?
This is the TITLE OF THE ARTICLE:
“Japan has not endorsed ivermectin as Covid-19 treatment”
This is literally the first paragraph explaining what was being fact checked:
“Social media posts suggest that Japan’s government recommends using antiparasitic drug ivermectin to treat Covid-19, citing remarks by the chairman of the Tokyo Medical Association. This is misleading; while he cautiously supported the treatment, the association does not represent the country’s government, which has not endorsed ivermectin for that use.”
And Japan, along with countries with similar healthcare standards and systems like South Korea and Singapore have been, and still are recommending or even mandating the use of MASKS. Singapore currently has 81 percent of it’s ENTIRE population fully vaccinated and the mask mandate is still ongoing.
Why isn’t “alternate media” talking about this? The Tokyo Medical Association recommends adding ivermectin as a treatment option and it goes viral while the people who made it go viral are generally the same ones whining about masks when they are officially endorsed by the aforementioned countries? It’s all just cherry picking regardless of whether it’s the MSM or otherwise.
Because nobody said Japan. They perhaps said in Japan or quoted the Tokyo Medical Association. Nobody meant Japan as a government. But the fact checkers.
And that is the problem with the fact checkers. And that is my problem with the article. They make a true statement looks false or misleading.
The fact is: Did Tokyo Medical Association recommend ivermektin as a Corona threatment? Yes, they did. True
Then you can clarify that the government and Ministry of health still did not.
In general, any fact check labelled as “misleading,” “lacking context,” “partially [something]” or other wiggle words is not a fact check.
Fact check means that you have a falsifiable statement and you state unequivocally that this falsifiable statement is either completely true or completely false. Anything else is not a fact check.
When I say something like “China wants to invade Taiwan”, do you assume I’m talking about the CCP or some independent military faction or other political association within the country?
Did you know the Tokyo Medical Association isn’t affiliated to the government prior to this? I didn’t.
So, likewise, if I tweeted that the Beijing National Defence Association (which doesn’t exist but but let’s assume it does for the sake of argument) recommends launching their entire nuclear arsenal at the US and it goes viral with even Rogan talking about it, would you not assume it’s an official statement by China?
And the government has never mandated healthy eating and exercise. Heart disease caused by diet and poor lifestyle kills over 500k a year but, people have the freedom to choose.
Even if these were “critical” times the government knew early on about the added risk of weight and other comorbidities and still nothing. Instead you have that retard in New York eating a burger and french fries talking about free fast food and people being incentivized with Krispy Kreme.
Yet, healthy individuals are supposed to get an injection with no long term studies to be extra responsible?
This isn’t remotely new you realize? The Supreme Court ruled on it like 115 years ago or something. I work in foster care you know the first thing they do when kids come in and have for forever? Make sure they are current with immunizations. The same shit our schools have been doing for forever. The vast vast majority of people in this country did it for forever despite knowing no one who had some of the things they were taking shots for. Meanwhile something comes along that does kill their friends and family and suddenly they are anti vaxx.
As for Ivermectin which keeps getting brought up I hope it works who doesn’t? Why would anyone be opposed to more good things for Covid? Right now best as I know isn’t the science not pointing to that or still saying we need more data? So who gives a fuck at this point. Why do all these anti vaxx people get a hard on for it? Goddamn they will just put their entire head down just to support something that some right winger said regardless of what it is?
Indeed. I’d just say go ahead and take that shit if one is really not planning on getting vaccinated and it doesn’t come with it’s own side effects from higher required doses and/ or long term use.
But, alas, the world doesn’t work this way. I’ll state this again. Why are there people (not talking about anyone HERE since I either don’t know or can’t remember what everyone’s real stances are on various issues) so optimistic about ivermectin because they think Japan recommends it but won’t even put on a fucking mask when literally every single fucking country in Asia including Japan officially recommends using them and most have passed mandates requiring the use of one when outside?
It should be the other way around.
“Japan recommends masks. I don’t believe they work. Now they recommend ivermectin. Fuck it. I’m not taking that shit.”
And why are people even giving a shit about Joe Rogan’s opinions. Even he has frequently said lots of his opinions are dumb.
It took a fucking astrophysicist 2 hours to convince him that the footage of the moon landings weren’t faked. Shit, even if I didn’t bother to listen to all the proof of their authenticity, just telling me Kubrick directed the “fake” footage would have made me lmao.
We had a poster who said something alone the lines of people only heard about Ivermectin from his podcast or some shit like everyone was trying to cover up this Covid wonder drug. A second of google searching lead to numerous articles about it saying the data isn’t there yet to support it.
Americans have proven we are stupid as shit throughout this whole Covid thing. It’s embarrassing.
You mean things that were largely successful because the amount of people that took them right? That’s what you meant to say correct? Because if you think those things that were by almost all means eradicated would have happened without them being taken by massive amounts of people then you don’t understand them at all.
Like the delta variant so far? Those things weren’t just required for children because of age but because of what that would do for society on the whole. Kids get shots right now for things that are incredibly less likely for them to get than Covid.
So what’s your magic point? Should we not have developed the polio vaccine? Or we should have because of what number exactly? What was the number where it wasn’t a come on man? What about the other things vaccines were developed for? The death rates for some of them may have been lower than Covid with modern medicine we have no way of knowing really.
But you know why we have no way of knowing really? Science developed good shit and people took the good shit science developed in massive amounts of people. And you know what happened? A thing that was bad for a shit ton of people suddenly wasn’t so bad with time. I mean history already showed the good in some of this and you’re bringing up bad diets. Hey why have the polio vaccine when kids aren’t even eating all their vegetables?!?
It’s odd that the death number is the only thing that gets brought up. As if we can just say millions of people who have it and have recovered won’t potentially have lifelong health complications which could result in death. Instead you want to herp derp why doesn’t the government just ban McDonald’s? Thank god we didn’t think this stupid when other vaccines came around.
Come on man indeed. And really the flu comparison? We’ve been this long into that and you’re still doing the flu comparison? Come the fuck on man.
And before you go there yes I realize comparing Covid to previous things is not the same. It’s highly unlikely that Covid would be fully gone at any point, but that isn’t the goal. When all that other stuff came out the goal wasn’t eradication. It was about a treatment to help with a public health crisis. Science came through people took it shit got better.
At this point I feel like some people are just rooting for Covid like they have money on it. “Yeah don’t tell people to get vaccinated I’ve got the over on 700,000 Covid deaths by Christmas. I’ve got a parlay with total cases and ICU beds filled up and I need Covid to come through so I can cash that ticket.”
That’s why you need to get vaccinated now. Leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of eternal life in this world. Anything someone says you need, you can safely assume you need.
Hey man, I understand where you’re coming from. I took my time deciding to get the vaccine. Like you, I’m healthy and on the younger side, so COVID doesn’t pose a serious threat. Ultimately, it came down to prioritizing the common good over self-interest. A vaccinated person is less likely to get (and therefore spread) the virus, plus a vaccinated person who gets the virus is contagious for fewer days than an unvaccinated person who gets it. This has two implications. 1) I’m less likely to spread the virus to someone who is vulnerable but can’t get vaccinated. This group includes the immunocompromised and kids under 12. I don’t want to be responsible for someone else’s suffering or worse. 2) The less the virus spreads, the fewer opportunities it has to mutate into something worse.
The obesity comparison doesn’t really work, because you can’t catch obesity from a coworker, but you can sure as shit catch COVID.
Both claims are not true. This is why I am still hesitant.
you are not more protected with the vax to get Covid than someone unvaxed. In fact if unvaxed you may get sick and stay home. I have a grandmother I am helping, so I rather get sick with Covid and stay home, than go visit her without simptoms and give her Covid. Unfortunately our doctor does not recommend she gets vaxed. Especially with Moderna or Phizer. He is not sure about Astra Zenica and Jansen.
vaccines that do not protect from getting the virus eventually create stronger mutatons.
See the research is… They give you some percentage for efficasy. But it then says efficasy at getting sick, not getting the virus. And the percentages are down to 60 for Astra Zeneca and Jansen.
Point me to a clear research.
And no I do not believe political organizations such as CDC and WHO for medical advise.
That is not scientific at all. Studies say Ivermektin is effective as well, but CDC does not include it in their website. I gets political.
My prediction is super spreader events from vacinnated people and if we keep doing the same bullshit we do at the moment - stronger mutations. The current health system and vaccination is not good enough. Again it is my opinion.
I would like to get back to Faucci. And talk about this criminal.
