I would oppose outlawing automobiles, even though people are hurt and killed in crashes. I donāt believe that means I fear such laws. The ones in fear would be the ones supporting such prohibition due to possible consequences.
I have. It goes with what I wrote earlier. āSubmissionā is whatās really required. Of course you can argue that one requires āfaithā - as defined in a broad context which is open to subjective interpretations - in order to submit although fear of hell is a pretty compelling factor and I canāt read everyoneās minds. Thereās a reason why Pascalās Wager exists.
My question was what Paul defines āfaithā as and what it fully encompasses according to him.
I got the wrong answer and Iām pretty tired of going back and forth so let this be the end of it.
Hint: The only Christians Iāve met IRL who actually preach and practice(to the best of their abilities since humans are flawed) their faith closest to whatās written in the bible are 7th Day Adventists.
Do you oppose the fitting of long spikes onto the bumpers of automobiles? Or any safety requirements or prohibitions in their manufacture or maintenance?
Be more specific. I donāt want to give an answer and then have you say, āHAHAHA. Ford manufactured this vehicle with an 18,000 pound nuclear bomb in the trunk.ā Or, āFord had its employees assemble this vehicle with their head in a guillotine, and the blade was set to drop if a bolt wasnāt perfectly centered on the first attempt.ā
To be fair I largely oppose mask mandates. Or at least think this should be unnecessary. If Trump hadnāt taken such a stance most of his followers would have got on board.
Somehow being safe during a pandemic became a partisan issue and it never needed it. It was a bad time to have a child in office. Any other President would have handled the political softball easily.
Now the whole wearing a mask in a gas station during a pandemic is the biggest hit to liberty in forever people are just being silly as usual. Like advocating for no speed limits or rules or any sort. Like I said fun stuff to discuss in free time on a bodybuilding board. But if they ever start libertopia sit back and watch how quickly they change that stance.
Not I, not I. Tired of the mouth breathers coughing in the aisles as they pick through the produce, squeeze melons, rifle through the egg cartons, and check expiration dates while visibly touching their mouth and nose.
Can you think of a historical precedent for the mask thing? Not that precedent is everything. I mean the federal government has historical precedent for sending japs to camps, doesnt make it right or lawful. But honestly, I canāt think of any historical events that mirror the mask mandate, at the state level or otherwise.
True. He also explains there are some tenants of the faith that are non negotiable. Eat meat, drink wine, pray on Saturday, fine. (Peter needs to stop being an asshole about the little stuff and make sure we get the basics correct).
I kind of lost track how we got here, but Iām glad we did. I enjoy any excuse to talk and analyze Scripture. I dont get a lot of practice since Iām a Catholic in the northeast.
7th day Adventists? Are they the ones who handle snakes and chant?
Interestingly our ancestors probably handled this better than us in terms of not being snowflakes. And all while fighting a war, having uncomfortable masks, and probably not understanding anything about the science.
Of course the anti maskers in 2020 had to point out on Facebook after binging Netflix that they would definitely not be putting on mask in a gas station for 30 seconds.
Iām not sure I remember it that way but my point is āfaithā is a little deeper than a single quote or word. Itās why I say I have āfaithā but not the kind of āfaithā in all the quotes in the link, half of which have mild to very different meanings when read in their entire context.
Yup. Same here.
They originated from the US. You tell me lol. I donāt know the entirety of what their denomination practices.
I do know they follow certain rules like the ones in Leviticus with regards to diet and ācleansingā(or was it ācleanlinessā) that even Catholics donāt follow.
Because you believe in utopia. Intelligent adults should be able to judge individual issues on their own merits. Ideologues/utopians actually believe reality, the universe, cares about their principles and concepts to the point that reality will comply to them. This particular thinking which comes from the right, is no different than how the SJWs on the left think.
Thatās fair and Iām not saying Iām immune to what I said myself. But constantly going there eliminates the nuisances of talking about rules of society. I mean face diapers, youāre all scared, how come you didnāt wear a mask in 1999, etc it just doesnāt get discussion anywhere. If your response to every law is something like āwell how come we donāt have to wear seat belts if weāre riding a hippo at the zoo you could be injured that wayā itās a little bit of a nonstarter.
