Havenāt posted here forever, but have to say Iām one of the lucky ones, a Pfizer vaccine survivor. Canāt believe I made it, feel so fortunate now.
(Never mind the other 50 million plus doses in the USā¦ MORE than moderna, but really thereās just nothing you can say to people desperate to believe conspiracy theories)
Fwiw to make this somewhat constructive, I had a couple mornings of mild headaches and maybe a mild fever then 2nd night, best of luck to everyone either getting the vaccine, or a giant roll of tinfoil, whatever youāre into.

My biggest concern in the US in regards to the vaccine is ignorance / stupidity. I think we will see many refuse it.
U.K. āvaccine reticenceā isnāt nearly as common (thank God) but I worry that enough will refuse it that the various governments will start to compel people to take it, which they would be legally entitled to do in extremis cases.
I think itās north of 80% willingness in the U.K. so hopefully thatās enough without resort to emergency powers.
Edit: donāt know what can be done with the US situation, if people wonāt willingly take it, the heavies can be authorised to force them, which no one would want to see.
I wouldnāt be opposed to requiring continued mask use unless you have had the vaccine. It just so happens that the ones that hate the mask the most seem to be the ones not wanting a vaccine. Giving a choice of two things they hate, I think would work to increase vaccines.

If it doesnāt, they may be compelled to take it. COVID is a national security issue at this point, never mind the economic catastrophe it is causing.
Individual reticence is very unlikely to sway a government that needs to keep tax receipts and military preparedness at a healthy level.

Iām not a lawyer, but Iāve seen enough business contracts in my professional career to understand that they were played like the imbeciles they are. That crap wouldnāt fly with the legal department of a mid sized company.
But hey, a child psychologist in mid sixties is the right person to draft such contracts per the Brussels establishment.

The galling thing is that the EU has many competent contract negotiators to utilise. What the hell did they have them doing? Did no one think of maybe getting a few commercial law firms on retainer for vaccine procurement?

Rand Paul was exposed (later found to be positive) and went ahead and was around his colleagues who were incredibly high risk instead of self quarantining while waiting for his results. Just hard for me to listen to anything he says about corona after that move.
