Coronavirus - What Happened?

Well, it took about 2 weeks, but the death toll is catching up to the case count now.

So I guess more and more people are socializing in groups now? It’s certainly not due to protests of any kind.

Reposted so people NEVER forget that ā€œexpertsā€ came up with this.

I dunno. Not that I’m aware of, other than the usual general activities.

Hell, it could be as simple as turning on the heat, which causes dryness and irritation of the sinus membranes.

Just curious…has anyone lost anyone they knew from it in here?

Thankfully not. I know several people who have had a real bad time with it, but fortunately recovered. I had it as well (not bad), and also forgot to say thanks to you guys in here for the well wishes and prayers!

I brought it up because the wife lost her aunt from it last night. So I was just wondering who else might be in the same boat. I know several in my area who have lost family members.

Yeah. My wife’s aunt. And also her friend/mentor in teaching.

I’ve lost a good handful of old-timer friends and mentors from my meetings too.

It sucks. Hadn’t seen them in months, then poof. An obit on Facebook and no funeral services.

Another woman I know just pulled through by the skin on her ass, and has some lingering breathing problems.

Sorry to hear of your loss. This is a very difficult and unusual time.

My first ever boss, if that counts. Died in less than a week, he was sixty one I think. Just an out of the blue notification on Facebook.

In-laws somehow scraped by, but it left them with heath issues of varying severity.

Friend of mine at work has lost 7 family members … aunts , uncle and cousins

I will, maybe after I’ve seen a few months of results from the initially vaccinated.

I’m not sticking my hand up to be an early adopter of a vaccine made so fast with, as yet, unforeseen consequences.

A pampered Covid denier is comparing herself to Sophie Scholl, who was actually beheaded by the Nazis, and then throws a textbook tantrum after facing some very measured criticism.

People who rant about ā€œglobalistsā€ are actually snowflakes spoiled by that very globalism.

No lie … home county has had 1250 cases out of 26k since this started.

@bulldog9899 and @SkyzykS

I’m sorry to hear that and I’m admittedly quite mind blown by people politicizing this virus.

I made this post in another thread that may be relevant:

This is a time where people need to be doing their civic duty even in the absence of government enforcement of rules.

It blows my mind when people won’t do simple things like wear masks during a fucking WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC when some people in some parts of Asia, even in CHINA, wear masks simply out of courtesy when they have a flu.

The fact it became politicized has but me into a fucking rage…

That’s the problem.

When idiots spread fear by telling you shit implying you’re most likely going to die once you catch it, and you live in fear for a month or 2, will you ever trust them again?

If you catch it and only experience mild symptoms, will you ever trust them again?

Same thing with the idiots who keep saying it’s ā€œlike the fluā€. NO IT ISN’T.

You can disagree with the measures taken like lockdowns and shit but downplaying the severity of it is just as bad.

Honestly, that is what finally put me over the top against the current admin. I’ve had plenty of criticism for most administrations, but that one move just enraged me.

I had to explain to a guy at work using numbers that h1n1 didn’t have shit on Covid.
