Yes. And do I like the idea of government tightening restrictions? No, no I do not. But they CAN because emergency powers grant all kinds of authority to both state and federal governments.
If you’re a libertarian type that thinks all government is illegitimate then you won’t accept this anyway, but the fact of the matter is that the authority already exists by the laws on the books.
One of the things that pisses me off is the fear mongering of the media, because like you said a few posts up once you get so dramatic that you convince people they will die if they have it… And they don’t… They won’t trust you again. Or anyone else for that matter, which will lead to them doing stupid ass shit.

We have to remember that it’s our fault. Politicians don’t want to expand their power; they’ve just been forced to do so by the lack of obedience displayed by their subjects. Shutdowns and masks are on their way to eliminating illness, but deplorable subjects are screwing it up.
