Coronavirus - What Happened?

Damn, bruh! Looks like we know how to stimulate the economy, reduce suicides, and eliminate The Rona. Lockdowns are an all-purpose tool with no downsides!

But for you posting more.

How does the suicide rate in NZ affect the rate here in the US?

NZ being brought up is starting to make me think of the whole ass to grass squatting debate, where someone brings up the picture of the toddler…

Let’s have some perspective: NZ is an island nation, with easily controllable borders; it has a population of 5 million or so, over a land mass of 103 thousand square miles -that’s the entire country; California alone has a population of 35 million, over a land mass of 163 thousand square miles.

Apples to apples.

The question is: Is this tyranny?

If people had Ebola that would require just a 1-2 week quarantine, would it be tyranny to isolate them?

Now, this virus isn’t as serious. But looking at the big picture, the economic and social repercussions from lockdowns are.

And as I said, the idiots gave the isolation facilities a fucking stupid name that I’ve forgotten. If they rebranded it and offered perks such as monetary compensation, it’d be quite different when it comes to public acceptance.

Even an authoritarian government like Singapore’s was smart enough to do this:

We could apply that logic to Sweden.

Sweden is an island nation with easily controllable borders?

No. But it is not like the USA. Smaller. Different socially. No urban centers or impoverished areas that resemble what exists in the US.

And let’s be real. People keep bringing up NZ in comparison to the US. Sure, blame Trump. But still.

Isn’t Sweden supposed some sort of highly traveled ā€œcorridorā€ country?

Not even sure what your point is tbh.

The US presents a set of variables that it doesn’t share with most nations.

Which is why discussing Covid, now, is pointless imo.

Just got tired of the whole halcyon NZ scenario as an example for countries that have a totally different set of circumstances.

Aren’t we making the same point?

Are you hitting on me?

Wait, I brought up NZ in comparison to Canada, never to the US. I made it clear I thought it would be more easily acceptable to them since they are also still a Commonwealth Country. You guys decided to give the finger to the UK lol.

The best thing to come out of Covid for the US is that when that fucktard hypocrite Newsom decides to run for president, his shitty behavior will hopefully nuke his chances.

Prescient lyrics. Nice.

Gov. Noisome is a product of both genetics and environment. No wonder we’re now graced with the perfect shitstorm.

Fun fact: Jerry Brown gave a speech at Dartmouth circa 1980ish, where he derided overweight people, who smoked, and then expected free healthcare. (or something along those lines)

You mean, undead.
