Coronavirus - What Happened?

Why would you post a link to poor countries to prove your point lol? Didn’t we kinda agree that lockdowns are a “luxury” for non-poor countries?

I think we just need to hold tight until a vaccine exists and can be mass distributed.

But even then it still causes a lot of problems, and the virus is still spreading.

It could be years. Not only are the existing experimental vaccines causing serious adverse reactions and have little effectiveness if any, the virus is continuing to mutate and there are many different strains around. Even if a safe and effective vaccine is eventually made, it will likely not be effective against all strains.

Seems to me that a different approach is needed, only so much can actually be accomplished at this point and the costs have to be taken into consideration.

Here’s another one for you, and remember I posted an article about 4 overdose deaths in one part of Ottawa within 24 hours

Officials say fentanyl and carfentanil is mixed in with the drug supply by local dealers who may be inexperienced with mixing drugs as border closings and travel restrictions reduce typical supply routes. However, Staff Sgt. Conor King, a drug expert with the Victoria police says organised crime is still getting illiict drugs into the province in transport trucks from the U.S and cargo ships from overseas.

I don’t know how to solve something like this tbh.

On one hand, I’m thinking these addicts are causing their own deaths and non-addicts shouldn’t have to die to protect them from themselves.

On the other hand, I’m thinking addiction is an illness and this may not be their own fault.

What do you think?

@SkyzykS would like your input too.

EDIT:

I highly doubt it’s suicide by overdose.

There’s no easy answer. It is a mental disorder that can be extremely difficult to overcome. Isolation is horrible for those with addictions.

The question is should deaths by overdose by a deciding factor when deciding whether to lockdown so others don’t die. So with that in mind, what would your opinion be. I’m slightly leaning towards it being ‘no’.

In my opinion, if more people are dying with lockdowns versus without, I would lift them, regardless of what is causing the deaths.

Alright guys and gals, just received an update on how China is dealing with this.

Now you need TWO tests before you can enter the country. One swab and one antibody test. This is how serious they are.

So keep this in mind if you read any conspiracy theories.

I think it’s a disease, but an entirely treatable one, and there are very very few, like zero addicts that aren’t at least passingly familiar with rehab and getting clean. So it’s also a choice.

And once clean, like drugs out of your system, it’s a matter of addressing that inner turmoil.

Simple, but not easy.

Then there’s the excuse making. Junkies will use any fucking excuse in the world to do more dope, but won’t even look for a single one to get clean. I guarantee you every junkie on this continent is throwing themselves one massive pitty party of “I’d get clean right now, but… Blah blah blah COVID…”.

You can’t make rational public health decisions based on the choices of people who don’t give a shit about rationality, public health, their own selves or anything else other than their next bag of dope.

My tolerance for that type of excuse making is zilch, because it has killed more people (by their own hand) than this coronavirus ever will, and could easily take me out too if I let it.

Man, it’s a tough one for someone who’s not been an addict nor a medical professional.

All I can say is if I had to decide that if a lockdown occurs, I’d MAKE IT STRICT or don’t do it at all. New Zealand style. Not Wuhan style.

Deploy all your manpower to enforce it.

It’s a massive change in direction for a nation like the US to go from full throttle obstinance and ignorance to high compliance of a completely different style of living.

Culturally it seems eastern countries are much more conditioned to coordinating effort and getting in step.

Yeah I was thinking Canada may be a little more receptive since they’re a Commonwealth Country. New Zealanders were pretty compliant.

Yes, you’ve got one round in the chamber in terms of people’s goodwill, so you have to go all-in with a lockdown to zero, much like NZ did

The Canadian government was recently talking about providing a “safe supply” of drugs. That would at least allow for more standardized dosages, but they would essentially be normalizing hard drug use which isn’t really a good thing. Also one thing I have heard is that the $2000/month the government is handing out is largely responsible for the increase in overdoses, now junkies get a whole bunch of money one time and go on an even bigger binge which obviously increases the risk of dying. You can’t put all the blame on that, but there is something to it.

It’s not. Suicides are a separate issue.

I feel the same way, but overdoses are just one issue. Suicides, cancelled medical treatments, undiagnosed cancers and other conditions, as well as starvation in poor countries.

Are they still sticking the swab all the way up your nose or down your throat? Bill Gates funded a study that found that swabbing just inside the nose was equally effective and the other tests were unnecessary, they are also pretty horrible.

And do it early, not when it’s too late to be effective. Otherwise it will never end and the costs are too high.

Most people are doing whatever they are told, regardless of whether or not it makes sense. There are also a lot of people who are opposed to all the restrictions and such and there have been other protests which weren’t covered by the media (they must want people to think that everyone else accepts it). I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle, people saying that it’s a hoax and being completely against masks etc. are doing themselves a disservice because not only are they wrong but they are encouraging people who really could die from the virus to put themselves at risk. But of course common sense isn’t too common anymore.

They use throat swabs in China. But the swabs are done locally before boarding the plane to China so they don’t care. We normally do nasal here. That’s going cost me 300USD for 2 tests here and another 160USD when my wife goes back next month. It’s less than 10 bucks in China for a test there and they test you twice. So she will now have 5 tests in all plus 3 weeks quarantine(2 in China, 1 local) just to travel there and back. This is how seriously all this shit is taken in this region. And the plane tickets have risen by 3x in price. Fucking capitalist bastards lol.

That’s terrible in every imaginable way. I wouldn’t do another test unless you paid me a large sum of money, me paying to do one is out of the question. Better just stay where you are than deal with all the bullshit, unless it’s a one way trip.

I just thought to put this here, it is at this posting on the front page of Usatoday.com.

There is a candidate vaccine that in stage 1 provides seemingly 90% effectiveness. It is in 2 doses and causes a sore arm and a crummy feeling for a couple of days. It is still necessary to wear a mask and distance.

As always…@SkyzyzS is a straight-shooter, speaking from Life Experience.

Also…I am sure that the “sudden” announcement of the Vaccine efficacy has reached the “Conspiracy Sphere”.

Am I correct?
