Nah, they started reporting asymptomatic cases and even locked down a city because of them. China really has very few cases. I wrote about the measures they took above.
You know I’m ALWAYS very skeptical about anything the CCP says so I wouldn’t be saying this if I didn’t have sufficient reason to believe it.
Wife had 3 tests just to enter China and leave. 1 before going, 1 during 2 weeks quarantine at a dedicated facility, and 1 before boarding a China airline back. That’s how strict they are just with people entering and leaving on China planes.
EDIT:
China is listed as an “unsafe” country by immigrations here based on politics, along with a couple of Middle Eastern countries, which affects the handing out of visas and stuff.
However, China(4 major provinces) is NOW the only country in the world listed as “safe” when it comes to covid lol. Which means people entering from China only need to home quarantine for 1 week and get a test here once they enter the country. Others need to quarantine for 2 weeks at dedicated facilities.

No, they got shit for not reporting asymptomatic cases in the past. Then they started doing it. It’s as simple as that. The article you linked was from Feb.

@antiquity I read your article from the other thread including the 2 comments (the peers I assume) and concede your point that the US is leading in deaths.
What l disagree with is that this pandemic should be laid solely at Trump’s feet, with no consideration of the other factors - fat inactive smokers, old people sent to covid nursing homes, independent officials/populace who disregard caution.
Let’s pretend Europe had this ‘beat’ because they didn’t have these issues. As soon as they opened it up, cases going through the roof. Does that point to their leaders being failures also? The world can’t exist as New Zealand - being an isolated and locked down island where one is jailed for not testing.

I actually agree with you on this. We will never be able to quantitate the impact (or non-impact) that our country’s response had on the ultimate outcome. For example, had Trump acted immediately, would we have seen a slow spread, loosened up, and then have seen an even bigger explosion of cases? Who knows. I don’t like Trump’s rhetoric and blame-shifting, but I concede we can’t quantify the damage it cased.

I thought to offer this little tidbit out of Aylmer, Ontario, Canada.
This town is home to the main police education centre in the province, I am unsure if farther. There is also around the general area a concentration of Mennonites, including some more Amish. The area has 27 churches, and I don’t think it is even a large population area.
It isn’t just in the US that large gatherings of people without masks have occurred, and I wonder how much further people are going to deny the science in front of their faces.

Like the fact that the restrictions in place for COVID are killing more than the virus itself?
Then add suicides, overdoses, cancelled surgeries and undiagnosed medical issues and so on.
