It’s as close as any other. The psychopaths just need an excuse.
Using as an excuse is one thing, being genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of the population is something else. Bill Gates is another example, talking about depopulating the world but he cares so much about people that he wants to give vaccines and abortions to people in third world countries. Then the virus come along, he’s one other main donors to the WHO and he is the one who called for lockdowns and all the bullshit even though it’s killing more people than the virus. I don’t hear him addressing that at all, but a lot of people think he’s really trying to save the world.
probably depends on your perspective whether or not this is true given your previous statement:
If you think overpopulation is a threat to humanity and the Earth…well, you said it…
At worst we should be seeking to maintain the population as it is. Depopulation will lead to another disaster, but I’m sure Gates and his friends have a plan to benefit from that as well:
i appreciate the link, but I take anything written by the BBC with a giant grain of salt … over the years I’ve noticed they’re little more than a glorified sensationalist tabloid…
but what do you mean by “maintain” the population exactly? How would you go about doing that?
There you go with history and documentation, fucking up the narrative of men who dream of a time when men were manly, again.
Ah, the good old days. When things were the way they ought to be, instead of the way that they were. ![]()
A fertility rate of 2.1 is the technical answer, I think.
That would only apply to women right? Do us men even get a fertility rate?
Well…we have a role to play in the process.
The best role.
But each person doesn’t have to produce 2.1 children, only women I am guessing (mathematically of course, I know men can’t produce children, I am thinking couples are bundled), unless a lot more kids die than I think.
Encourage people to have more kids in countries where the birth rate is below replacement level, teach people to use birth control in countries where an excessive high birth rate is a problem.
Overall something like that is what should be aimed for, if indeed the world can’t handle more people. I think the real issue is unequal distribution of resources, but the people profiting from that don’t want to share.
It’s average per woman, I believe.
It’s measured as average number of births per woman
What policy do you think would be practical?
…same here?
For pure natalism? Drop income tax by 20% per child and ban TV streaming services, the maternity wards would be packed tighter than new sleeping bags ![]()
Some countries like Poland started giving additional benefits to couple with children. On the other side of things where too many kids are being born, teach people about birth control. Even just pulling it out can work.
No vacations for you!
I’d take a pint inside my local.
At this point so would I. I’m in actual quarantine instead of just distancing.
I may be going insane. Who would have thought a two week “vacation” would be such a drag?
