I believe I read somewhere last night, in Ohio for example, marital arts and all related gyms will continue to remain closed due to the fact that social distancing simply cannot be accomplished? I don’t know how they will develop a business plan to pitch to their individual states to overcome this, but there must be some way. People that participate in MMA and the other forms of martial arts deserve just as much freedom to participate in their sport as regular gym goers.
My concern is, I’ve read that gyms are forced to take the square footage of their facility and map out 6’ all across the board for the social distancing thing. Once that is established, they can calculate a maximum occupancy at any one time. I get off work at 4:30pm and my gym is literally 5 minutes away. Say I get there and maximum occupancy has already been achieved. I have to wait an hour or two until the current group leaves? This would cause me to have to rearrange my whole schedule along with TONS of others that work during the day. I mean, I will if I have to, but jesus Christ. If I go into deadlift and do other accessories, that workout typically takes longer due to recovery between sets.
I don’t know, just venting. Since gyms aren’t even supposed to open here until mid-June at the earliest, all I’m doing is speculating and borrowing trouble.

It’s like I have been saying all along since the data started to come out (months ago), the elderly and those with certain pre-existing conditions should have been isolated. Nothing was done to protect them, and in some cases there were policies like forcing nursing homes to accept infected patients which ensured that people would get sick and die. There is no reason to continue with the measures in place in many locations.

How does that make it nonsensical? Is it better for a baby to be aborted or to live a difficult life? And if a difficult life isn’t worth living then why aren’t poor people in third world countries committing suicide en masse?

Many people support shutdown measures still. It’s not like Gates is the sole person in the world who says we shouldn’t open back up. Who gives a shit though? To me this would be less evidence to the theory that he wants to profit. Isn’t more corona good for those who want to profit off the vaccine like Gates apparently? Instead of being so vague be specific about what you’re saying. What exactly do you think Bill Gates is doing? What makes you think there could be something to it? What is it you think he did or is doing? Don’t respond with “well it appears to maybe look like something is all I’m saying.” Fuck Gates could be conspiring with China. Trump could. You could. I have no fucking idea for sure. But my stock response to a global pandemic is not “I bet some dude created this thing so he could make money off a vaccine.” In fact that sounds absolutely fucking idiotic.
Maybe it is a conspiracy. But I’m going to need to know what you’re alleging and why with specifics. And not responses where you back away from making a point because you don’t feel confident in how people will handle it.

You do realize Gates has spent billions to help people in those countries right? And you read a meme off Facebook or saw something (probably while buying into the conspiracy theory about him) that made you think he wants to kill everyone just because people don’t actually read articles but pull words from something and say “look what this guy wants!”

A good government can only make recommendations. It is essentially up to the people to dictate how lethal/non-lethal the virus will be.

Containing the virus isn’t dependent on how “good” the government is. It’s dependant on so many factors local to each country. The government of Vietnam isn’t “good”, they’re efficient, just like China. You wouldn’t want them fucking with you. And the government of Singapore consists of a bunch of overpaid clowns whom I wouldn’t hire to lick stamps. Singapore would have gotten away without a lockdown and ended up like Hong Kong but for a dazzling display of stupidity from their oversight pertaining to migrant worker dormitories. Hong Kongers will probably say “fuck you” if you credit the containment of the virus to the efforts of the government instead of their own proactive efforts, one of which included having a frontline workers strike because the government refused to close the border to China early in the outbreak.

We are now allowed to congregate in groups no larger than a certain three digit number up from groups no larger than single digits. Can’t imagine what the scientific basis was that was used to determine this seemingly arbitrary number. I wonder if there are 10 more people than what is allowed if the virus will suddenly swarm the gathering like a plague of locusts?
At least they’ve finally determined that being outside in a state park will no longer bring upon us the 10 plagues of Egypt.
