Canāt. I live there.
(actually do. that one was filmed here
)
Typically the answer is yes, or some variation of it: ācomplications from influenzaā, āpneumonia caused by influenzaā, etc. I couldnāt tell you the actual charting because Iām not clinical, but yes in short flu/complications from flu would generally be acknowledged as cause.
Most likely, as with hospice care or other palliative care many could live months or more. Cancer would probably be listed as contributing cause. Donāt know exactly.
No doubt about this, yes.
It depends. For example, flu typically does not lead to other systems failing acutely (like a stroke). If you have brain cancer and have a stroke, flu is not going to be likely listed as COD. Same for other systems.
However, lung cancer could potentially be complicated since flu does directly affect the lungs. So really it depends on multiple factors.
Patton Oswalt:
Thatās very bold of you.
Iām in charge of my life.
He obviously never sat through Cats. If they release a sequel, Iām defecting to North Korea.
According to the CDC the corona virus is spread āmainly through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.ā
How many of you feel that a person who goes out in public, is not sick, coughing, sneezing, and practices social distancing is still a risk to others and should be required to wear a mask?
ThEy CoUlD bE AsYmPtOmAtIc mAn!!! STAY INSIDE!!!
Spreads the same way as the flu, cold, and any other virus/bacteria.
I refuse to live in OTHER peopleās fear. YOU social distance. YOU wear a mask. YOU continue fearing the government.

Iām not sure I think people should be required, but it would probably be nice if people did a super easy thing. This idea that putting on a mask is somehow difficult is mind boggling. Weāre in the middle of a health crisis and it has been recommended that wearing a mask can help. Instead we get people who laugh at those who follow that advice on here and those who are acting like itās some sort of horrific burden on them to consider taking a measure that may protect people. āYouāll never make me wear a mask!ā
God damn stores had no shirt, no shoes, no service and I donāt remember people saying āIāll be damned if that store makes me wear a shirt!ā
But hey not everyone can be an adult.

I worked as a vendor for a while, and I remember after one specific street festival one of my C-stores had āPantsā added to the list in sharpie. Some dude had walked in wearing shirt and shoes, and nothing else. They were going to have to sell to him, but the cops walked in and grabbed him. Which was good, because they werenāt sure where he was keeping the money with no pockets.
What a horrific assault on freedom to have someone wear pants.

Iām kinda mixed about that. Itās one of those good for the goose things. Either we all do or no one does, because everybody is special.
Iād also consider that the places with highest population densities, traffic and most common use amenities are also the highest infection locations, like the public transit systems along the eastern seaboard, the entire commerce and living corridor from NYC to Wash./Baltimore and surrounding populations should be pretty uptight about it.
But no, if someone is clean, provably, and has good hygienic practices, thatās likely fine. Casually at home and in my neighborhood I hang out with my neighbors with no masks because Iām pretty sure that they are clean, disease free, have decent hygiene habits and are conscientious about the current social distancing practices.
In some places and people Iāve knownāno fucking way. Theyāre disgusting fucking pigs that not many people would want to be around without any new diseases or pandemic, let alone with one.
YOU continue fearing the government.
I donāt wear a mask in public because of fear of the government. Itās a job requirement (no one on my team whines like babies, but again I believe I work with rational adults) and people have said it may help. Maybe it wonāt who knows? Seems like a really easy measure to take in a country thatās approaching 1.4 million cases of this.
YOU social distance.
I will. Itās a shame you wonāt because your decisions effect others. But I think if you want to throw a fit about staying a bit away from someone in a line or something go ahead. Maybe they will move forward or back from you so you donāt have to bother yourself with changing any behavior.
I refuse to live in OTHER peopleās fear.
Ok. Iām not that fearful, but Iād hate to not take easy steps that may help my family or others. You do you and stay angry as hell if you want.
I can hardly believe it. The most unbearable part of a pandemic dreaded for decades turns out to be the fucking edgelords.
Wonder how these people are in real life? āWe should arrive in Vegas in 2 hours. Please buckle your seatbelt as we prepare for takeoff.ā
Fuck that shit you buckle YOUR seatbelt! YOU be afraid of crashing! Iām not going to sit here and let some fucking flight attendant tell me to strap in!
Just got to let them live their truths, man.
I was just sent home because the cleaning guy at my job, whom I see and interact with regularly, and who doesnāt wear a mask, tested positive for covid today. We were told to go home while they sanitized our work areas. Everyone was like āwhen do we come back?ā Manager goes, ātomorrowā. Uhhā¦itās the cleaning guy, he touches EVERYTHING in there. How are we coming back tomorrow? Iām not that scared of this whole thing and my momās in NY, pretty much only come into contact with my family every day, but Iām just wondering how theyāre not even going to have any of us tested, haha.
How many of you feel that a person who goes out in public, is not sick, coughing, sneezing, and practices social distancing is still a risk to others and should be required to wear a mask?
How many of us are epidemiologists or virologists? Are you? What you or I FEEL is pretty meaningless when there is this thing called science.
We get it. Youāre edgy.
