So no one without an underlying illness, such as cancer, COPD, or CHF, ever dies of just the flu? If that’s the case, a healthy person really would have no need of a flu shot.

You might want look at your question. You asked about people being listed as dying from the flu. I answered that obviously people were listed that way because we have stats that refer to that.

Your answer appears to assert that flu deaths stats exist because people die of the flu while also having a separate terminal illness. Perhaps I misunderstood.
Or people put the mask on and get it in the right spot and leave it there while out? I haven’t seen anyone driving with a mask on personally and if I did I wouldn’t think that the reason they have it on is to protect themselves while in the car.

The actual reason is because touching your PPE is where infection is likely to come from. The regimented step-by-step way to safely remove PPE is a PITA and often screwed up even by healthcare professionals, so once you have your mask on, just keep it on till you get home.

If you contact some COVID in the grocery store while wearing a mask, then keep the mask on when you go to the auto parts store, have you spread COVID? Is COVID stuck to the outside of a mask unless touched?
Maybe it’s a regional thing. There was(mask wearing seems to have slowed lately) a good chance that the car beside you at a stoplight would have a driver wearing one, around here.
If it wasn’t for a few on here I wouldn’t have even been aware of it. People wearing masks is a big issue for some on here apparently. I already shared how my team dealt with the mask issue. I thought they handled it exactly as most adults would.
Basically, you want touch as little of your outer clothing as possible until you take it off and decontaminate.
Imagine you’re cleaning chimneys. To limit your contact with soot as much as possible you don’t want to remove all your outer clothing and protective eqmt between each chimney… You’ll get soot everywhere. You keep it on till the end of the day. Same general idea.
But, like I said, who fucking cares if folks leave their masks on in the car? Maybe they don’t find them super uncomfortable like some other Charmin soft folks out there?

My wife wears an N-95 mask (there are volumes of OSHA ISO other workplace safety orgs. standards, rules and regs. on masks requirements, categories, use, etc.) which is considered the standard to actually protect the wearer.
In many places I’m required to wear P-100 for welding, a higher standard, but also problematic for a number of reasons:
Aside from a pretty nasty general appearance, communication ability is nill.
This one is fitted with the softer side filters for wearing under a welding hood, but more recently larger organizations like Allegheny Health Network have adopted these same ones using the hard cartridges.
The cloth masks are to reduce the breath plume and droplets from coughing and sneezing, and are supposed to reduce the over all contamination of a given space.
