As a bit of a footnote here, it seems like it was back in ancient times when many were pointing out how many of Trump’s circle are outright crooks;

In a sense, Covid-19 de facto serves as a convenient utility.

Baltimore’s former Mayor (crook) has been able to get her sentence suspended due to the pandemic…

Interesting:

Noblesse oblige. A similar example is that Prince Andrew (yes, that one) was on one of the first choppers into the Falklands when we once again defeated the scurrilous Argentine claim on British territory.

Reached by phone by TV station WAFB, Spell disputed the coroner’s cause of death finding for Orillion. ā€œThat is a lie,ā€ he said, without elaborating. He told another station, WVLA, which first reported on the death, that Orillion ā€œdied of a broken heartā€ after the parishioner’s son died the previous week, triggering early onset Parkinson’s in Orillion.

ā€œHarold did not have Coronavirus, he was never on ventilator, he did not have COVID-19,ā€ he said.

In a [video]posted on Wednesday, Spell asked parishioners to donate their $1,200 federal stimulus check to the church.

@loppar may have convinced the fiancƩe to a small ceremony and a delayed celebration.

But I’ve demanded it be done at Tullyhogue, the crowning place of the Kings of Tyrone. Pretty sure I can convince the priest it is consecrated. Many Catholic kings crowned there.

If I remember correctly, arguably the most dangerous task of serving as a decoy for Exocets. The Saxe-Coburg Gothas always understood PR and the importance of putting oneself into danger, hence Harry in Afghanistan.

As do the descendants of a illiterate drunk Frenchman occupying the Swedish throne.

sniff I’m so proud of you man, you’ve learnt well

ā€œFine, keep the Islands, we’ll take the cup then!ā€, little Diego said.

(I bet most people don’t know this, assuming his stat is correct):

ā€œThe media also seems obsessed with finding young people who’ve died of COVID-19,ā€ he continued. ā€œThe Washington Post says there’s 759 under 50 years old. Horrible, of course. Then I looked up how many under 50 died of the flu last year: almost 3,000.ā€

The funny part about Maher’s commentary is he thinks all the fearmongers will actually enhance Trump’s re-election chances. I totally agree.

When I finally forced myself to click on an article with Trump’s name in the headline recently, I was astonished to find that I agreed with the man…

If COVID Lockdown is successful, I would expect one-or-two-a-year every year. It’s a new thing that they were able to successfully scare people with but, once this panic is over and smaller-than-flu numbers can be shown, there will be precedent for shutting stuff down over sickness(Edit: and…OMG!..look how much worse the flu usually is!!!). It will be very useful.

I don’t know how you can rail against fearmongering and then fearmonger like this, haha.

Either way, I’m well off the keep-stuff-locked-down train at this point. If the governors had to keep stuff locked down to protect people, it’d be fine, but if this turns into a just-to-flout-Trump thing, then they’re going to go down in flames. And yes, I’m well aware that for some of them, it was probably just that the whole time.

Fearmongering fearmongering. When the sky falls, it falls on both sides.

(too long, no easy smarmy zingers…)

Death rate estimate between 1 to 2 per thousand.

Went out today and saw a woman pushing a young child in stroller. Woman was wearing a mask. Child was not. This was in a restaurant. What possible reasoning did the woman have for her decisions?

Worried about the Rona? Why leave child exposed?
Worried about hurting others? Why leave child exposed?
Trying to look cool? Why not let child look cool?
*Left out one other detail: Folks cooking her food were not wearing masks.
