i think there is a bit of a difference between hugo passing out and passing out after deadlifting one rep at 329. ike IS a noob, he said he had been lifting for a month.
Would a video of Kevin Knee passing out on Deadlifting against Mariuz be a better choice for you then

Other than the obvious differences in weight, how? That is a 1rm max for ike and that is a max for Hugo? You would figure though experience Hugo wouldn’t of done this. He got ahead of himself and it happened. People busting on that guy in the video are only doing it because it was 329. If that was a 600-700lb deadlift no one would of said shit about him being a dumbass.

So because he was excited, a noob and it was 329, it’s ok to bust on him for yelling then passing out?

If you answer yes, STFU and get out or post a video for us. Everyone starts somewhere, get the fuck over yourself

Oh, since you don’t do it… shit it must be stupid then.
I’m sorry I have to throw my two cents in on this one. The guy in the video comes off as a complete tool. The guy straight drops the weight from lockout and yells as loud as he can. You can get excited about setting PRs but this is over the top.

And yes the weight on the bar makes a difference. This guys been training for a fucking month. He probably set a pr the week before and the week before that and is gonna add some pounds next time he pulls too. Some one pulling 600+ probably has several years of training under their belt and may only put a couple pounds on their deadlift over the course of months or years. They have a right to be excited.

my last thought is how the fuck do you load 329 on the bar? does not compute in kg or lbs.

oh ya didn’t even mention how he passes out. eh, i guess it happens. Doesn’t really matter that it happened with a “light weight”. If ike is the guy in the video, I hope he recovers from his injuries and keeps making progress with his lifts. Ike, try to stop being a tool too.

also the camera man is a douche for laughing. okay I think I’ve said enough.

He doesn’t drop it quite as high as the video guy, but there is him yelling and screaming, Kevin Nee must be a tool because he screamed loud, not once… not twice but 6 times.

People get excited anyway they feel it. Who are you or anyone else to limits his excitement to a simple head nod and a pat on the back.

If you said that Nee wasn’t a tool in that video, it makes your a hypocrite and then comes back down to weight. The fact that it was 329 and to me anyone who is going to try and belittle someone’s accomplishments is a fucking tool.

Hrrm so because this guy hasn’t been training for years, he has no right to be excited. That is exactly what you’re telling me. So only the people that have been training for years and years have that right and no one else.

Here please bestow upon T-Nation your videos of fucking greatness. I mean, holy shit you seem to be judge and juror over who and who cannot be excited, lets see all this “Experience” you seem to bring on here in a video format.

Collars, fractional plates?

One more time here is a Strongman Kevin Nee passing out on Deadlifts again Mariusz P.

He passed out so bad, he needed fucking oxygen. I guess he is a tool still

No, please keep talking.

woah kevin passed out twice in that competition…that’s fucked up. what was wrong with him?

just to clarify, you are comparing a kid thats been in the gym for 1 month and passes out because he doesnt breathe to different strongmen competitors that have been training for years, right?

Lack of oxygen due to not properly breathing or A drastic Blood Pressure drop. The BP thing used to happen to me all the time - I could just stand up from sitting and get dizzy and the last straw was after 3 sprints in a Tournament for paintball I passed out trying to hang the flag - dizzy all the way.

And no it is not me not knowing how to breathe, it is a genetic thing with me and is fixed now. FWIW my heart rate used to go as low as 18 beats per minute causing dizzyiness and HUGE migraines.

After sqauting or deadlifting I had same issues - all the time.

@ IKE after a big set under heavy load - sit down and breathe deep 10 -15 times before trying to get up. You will become accustomed to the loads you put on your body over time.

hope this helps.

I am in the same boat as far as having passed out after a deadlift. Thankfully, I landed on my side and didn’t hit anything. For those who are might want to talk crap, I hit a 474 at around 158 bodyweight, so I’m not total n00b.

But anyway, I agree with the sitting down part. Actually, what I’ve found works best is when I start feeling light headed, I get down into a deep squat position and support my upperbody with my elbows on my knees. I hold that position until I feel more normal and then I get up slowly. Haven’t passed out since.

Within the context of your post, yes I am.
