Has anyone here cooked quinoa in a rice cooker? I was wondering if that would work. Also what is the measurements as far as quinoa to water.
I cook quinoa in a regular pot just like rice. I use 4 cups of water to 2 cups quinoa. I like it because it cooks fast, and its a nice change of pace.
Yea, use a 2-1 water-quinoa ratio when you are cooking. I am sure a rice cooker would work fine, but I cook it by bringing it to a boil, then reduce it to simmer, cover it, and let it go for 15 minutes. You want to make sure you give it good time so it becomes soft, otherwise you might end up with little pebbles.
Toast it before cooking it, makes a world of difference. Just a little browning in a hot skillet.
Try it.
