I was recently told i should get a conventional deadlift suit, what is the best suit?
I have used older Titan single ply suits and they were awful for conventional pulling. The newer Metal King deadlifters are pretty nice if you can actually get down to the bar without your head exploding. That being said, I think the Inzer MaxDL is the best conventional suit out there. I have pulled over 800 several times in competition and I will most likely never use another single ply suit again. Actually, my most recent pull was a PR at 815. The suit I trained in was a little loose because I dropped some weight unexpectedely. I had a back up MaxDL that was a little tighter but was like 5 years old. It still had enough pop off the floor to nail 815 and I just barely missed 832.
Anyway, in my opinion, for single ply:
MaxDL for conventional
Metal King for sumo
Learn to pull sumo in your squat suit, that seems to work for most. If you are dead set on buying a suit, can’t go wrong with a metal king. I have an IPF king conventional, works great.
I have a Metal King Pro Deadlifter and it works well. It gives a lot of pop off the floor.
I had a Titan Velocity suit when I competed @ 275 that had great pop off the floor. Now @ 308 I have an Inzer Fusion suit that I set a world record 744 in. It’s hell to reach the bar in the Inzer. Also, I like the bar still when I start but with the Fusion I have to roll the bar out/in.
