Where did you get the starter? Do you use a stone? A mister?
@The_Myth I made my own starter! Cooked the loafs in a cast iron combo cooker.
I have read a few different recipes and formulas and have ended up just trying my own thing.
The first batch was a 72% hydration, 50/50 AP and Wheat flour mix. 2% salt. I create the levain the night before, autolyse the flour and water in the am, combined it all plus the salt and performed 4 sets of stretch and folds ever 30 mins, then allowed to bulk ferment for 4 hours in my oven (light on only). Pre shaped, bench rested 30 mins, final shape and final ferment for another 2 hours in the oven. It was a 1 day bake.
The second batch I took slower. 80% hydration, 80% AP and 20% wheat flours 2% salt. I made the levain the night before, autolyse in the am,bulk ferment for 8 hours (while at work), pre shape, bench rest, final shape and final ferment over night in the fridge. Bake in the next AM.
2/12 45 mins cardio.
how complicated is making your own bread? What about sourdough or eziekeil bread? something ive always been semi intrested in doing but never got round to actualy doing or researching . . .
@tj55 honestly it’s not very complicated at all. It’s mostly just time consuming with a bit of a learning curve (how to tell when the dough has risen enough but not too much, how to shape the bread etc)
I am currently making sourdough bread only. I haven’t played with any other types.
The hardest part of sourdough is maintaining your starter. The starter is a mix of flour and water that you consistently feed by removing some and adding new flour and water to grow natural yeast. Takes just a few mins a day to maintain but you gotta take care of it in order to make sourdough bread.
thankyou for the info!
Happy to help. If you are interested I recommend picking the a book called flour water salt yeast and reading through a blog called the perfect loaf. Its a good place to start

Alright alright alright. I been doing my own blend of 531 and gzcl for a little bit. R/weightroom is holding a program party. A pretty large groom of people will be running average to savage 2.0. i had attempted to start this program and for what ever reason stopped.
I am gonna try again. Hopefully… Doing along side this group will help keep me accountable. Starts March 1st. Today I test 3 rep maxes and tomorrow I rest before jumping in.
Edit. So… Ankle hurt yesterday. Opted to rest instead of test. Calculated an estimated 3 rep max for the spreadsheet. Will likely start today
