Constant Soreness

Hey Fellas,

Any clue as to why my legs are always constantly sore (mainly quads but sometimes hammies)? I just took a week off from lifting for spring break, and they are still sore. I use westside training, eat plenty, and rest.

Any ideas on what could be the issue and/or what I should do?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike are you doing any stretch PWO?

That’s a negative … guess I should get on that.

Mike, stretching should be specific to the exercises you’re doing. Ideally you would do 5 minutes of cardio before lifting/pulling any weight. That warms up the body and gets blood going to the muscles. Stretching should be done in between sets and after the last set.

If you’re not doing it currently, I would recommend 2 or 3 days a week of HIIT. Increasing your cardiovascular fitness will increase the capillary network that delivers nutrients to the muscles and clears waste and lactic acid. The HIIT and stretching would both be helpful for what you’re complaining about.

How’s your PWO nutrition? Are you taking in Surge?

i dont see how your quads would be overly sore from westside training, as it focuses largely on hammie work,( unless your quads are terribly weak, which i doubt)
are you doing to much or overdoing GPP?

Yep, I use surge during/post-wo

I don’t really do any GPP … well, I have basketball class MWF if you want to count that, but as far as dragging and whatnot, nada.

Mike

Stretch for sure, and I sm surprized no one has mentioned it yet but how is your diet in general. Are you getting enough vits and minerals from real food, veggies fruit, real protein. Also a good multi vit… That is if you are lacking in these areas.

Just a thought
