Best Picture, Director, Actress and Supporting Actor. Clint and company cleaned house this year. Truly awesome accomplishment, and, from what I hear (I’ve been trying to go see this for so long, but haven’t had a good chance), an awesome movie. Congrats to them.
I can’t think of an actor more deserving of an Oscar than Morgan Freeman.
that ending made no sense if you understand the rules of boxing for example if the bell rings and you punch someone after the bell rings and the person who gets poped after the bell can’t continue with the fight the person who threw the punch loses it’s known as being fowled out so who ever wrote that move had no understanding of the sport .
I don’t think anyone made mention in the movie about who won or lost that final match (except Maggie’s useless mother…)
Mufasa
Well, I finally saw it last night. And it was good…but damn that was depressing. I stayed completely away from any articles or spoilers about the movie, so I was under the VERY VERY wrong impression that the movie was going to be more about boxing and the athletics involved. Man, was I wrong. Damn great movie, I just wish I’d had a bit more of an idea of what was coming. I need a few days to digest that one…
great film
clint is an amazing director.
so much better than i thought i could be.
will deffo watch again.
Gerry- yes, they ignored a lot of the reality of boxing when writing the movie. But “they” do that in every sports movie, don’t they?
Otherwise great flick - too bad the only false notes were things that were easily fixable.
Yeah but does Hillary get naked?
It’s important info when it comes to spending my movie-viewing dollar.
I saw it this past weekend. good movie, but horribly depressing after the last fight.
Nope, Hillary does not get naked.
In some ways, this movie is not depressing. I mean, look at what Clint Eastwood got from Hillary Swank, and look at what she accomplished.

Then why the fuck did the movie win an Oscar (or a Grammy, or whatever award it was)?!?!?!
Only movies that show tits should win awards. Remember Titanic? Remember Debbie Does Dallas? That won the Best Costume Design I think.
…Best use of the “wazu visor” I’ve ever seen in my life.
