Hello, your programs call for pretty hard conditioning, several days a week. Dan John says to keep thr conditioning limited to walks and easy stuff. He says that if you want to get mass, focus on getting mass…don’t do cardio or anything else as it will hinder your mass gains. Almost thr opposite of what your program says.
Any input? Basically his approach is to focus on mass, treat your body like a king when you aren’t working out…don’t get too cold or hot, don’t play basketball with friends, relax, recover, etc.
I don’t think you understand Dan John’s training philosophy at all. He absolutely advocates conditioning. Traditional cardio is not the same as conditioning work.
That is Dan John’s philosophy when using the Mass Made Simple program or when targeting mass specifically for a defined period of time. It is very different from his suggestions for the remainder of the year. Take a look at his 10,000 swing article for an example.

If we’re talking about a particular training block that’s meant to take up a short period of time, I can buy that. Since Wendler’s program is meant to be implemented year-round, potentially for years on end, this makes sense. It’s an apples to oranges thing that the OP seems to be comparing.

That is exactly the case. The original poster was using comments from Dan John’s mass made simple plan, a specific program for a specific goal. Very different from his general guidance.
Thanks. Not trying to create drama with him vs him crap. Was just curious about the opinions. Makes sense since it’s a 6 week program vs indefinite. Thanks for clearing that up fellas. So basically, conditioning year round except for during specific short training programs. Got it.
