Lol if i did that i wouldve been stuck as a skinny fat kid with no strengh. At least now im a semi-muscular skinny kid with strengh.
I do get ur point tho i think what you mentioned is an extreme of seeking info. There should def be a balance.
How do you know that?
You are only a teenager. That isnāt a slight, but an observation that your training age is young. People being bigger than you is not much of an accomplishment; and you still have LOTS of potential.
Because i did it for 2 years with barely any change in my physique, and i literally skipped noob gainz because of that.
Since ive started researching and having a more scientific approach to lifting and dieting my body has improved way more and much faster,to a notable difference.
But yeah ppl being bigger than me doesnt say much when theyre 10yrs older than me i guess.
I think the most important thing you need to do in general is stop comparing yourself with others.
When you were an even YOUNGER teen. Think about that for a second.
Thatās terrible. Now your genetic limit has dropped to being able to gain only 20lbs of lbm. Shit dude, I feel for you. How much have you gained so far?
Do you not think he could get it back if he did GOMAD?
Only if he also turned to bow and pray to Rippetoe five times a day.
Yeah it sucks. I think ive gained around 15lbs of lbm maybe. Not quite sure as ive recomped a bit.
Iām just messing with you. Thereās no such as missing out on beginner gains. See how easy it is to pick up nonsense on the internet?
Lmao you really got me there. I always feared thats what happened and you saying it made me think others think so too
.
Nonsense. Ronnie Coleman and I both started out as advanced intermediates.
No kidding, youāve gotten yourself quite a dead lift at an early age. Youāre off to a very good start. There is really no reason to be bothered by what other kids are doing.
If you stay healthy and focused you should be able to accomplish quite a bit.
For some reason when these debates come up and everyone wants to get all scientific and how experience means jack and shit I keep getting reminded of this movie clip.
Do you think he gave the Swede lifting advice?

There might be (easily) other factors contributing.
Maybe they do a demanding physical job, maybe theyāve been doing it for years 5-6 days a week and they stack their gym training on top of that, thus doing more work than it appears.
Maybe theyāve been playing sports for years, maybe even at a decent level, then stopped and started going to the gym starting with a much better base than average.
Maybe they ādo wrong thingsā with more intent, intention behind lifting has been proven to be linked to a better muscular growth.
Maybe theyāre simply genetically predisposed to pack muscle easier/quicker or to have a more aesthetic structure.
Maybe theyāre doing stuff that actually works and they donāt even realize it, there was an article here Iāve read and the author explained about this guy with great arms, and when he approached him asking for his routine the guy gave him one of those super basic cookie cutter routines from fitness magazines. The author then looked at his program sheets and noticed this guy was doing chinups with a supinated grip almost daily ābecause he liked doing chinupsā. The guy probably didnāt realize they were a big factor into his arms growth but there it is.
Maybe you could warmup with their deadlift and squat 1RMs and be all around much stronger than them, but theyāre simply sticking to a mass/hypertrophy oriented routine instead of a strength one.
There are many factors. Bottom line, youāre free to believe that it all comes down to genetics. Even then, what are you gonna do about it? You can either accept it and work within your limits or invent some kind of time travel device to go back and convince your mother to choose a different partner with a different genetic pool for your conception.
Thereās a guy at my gym like 260, doesnāt really like working out that much, and benches 405 for a joke. I asked him how he managed to get strong enough to bench 405 for what looks like an easy triple and he said he just really likes benching and only does the other stuff because he feels like he should.
Also his training method for bench was only to use 25s and 45s because he was too lazy to load any other plates and would just stay with a weight until 10 reps felt really easy then add a 25 or replace the 25 with a 45.
Obviously heās bigger and stronger than me so I told him heās stupid because none of what he did was scientific
Brilliant. Well played.

Iāve advocated for precisely this in the past. Love it.
