Competition Preparation Advice Needed

After doing my 1RM deadlift at the gym one day about a month ago and being impressed that I pulled 465, I became curious as to what the world record for my age and weight class is…and maybe even if the record could be mine. I’m 15 and in the 198 weight class. After looking at several organizations I found theWNPF and saw that my lift was higher, and the my squat and bench are too. I’m going to one of their competitions in September to qualify for their worlds competitom to hopefully set those records. Currently my lifts are:

Squat: 430
Bench: 260
Deadlift: 500

The current world records in my weight and age are:

Squat: 385
Bench: 230
Deadlift: 455

As I still have a few weeks to train I’m looking to get my lifts up at least 20 pounds each…my questions are about how I should warm up at the competition, what weight I should do for my first second and third rep for each lift, and also what to expect at a powerlifting competition because this is my first one. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

You might this useful - just make sure you realize that your opener is the 100% in the equation for this article.

For picking lifts using the idea of a goal third attempt as your goal max of 100%, then 95% for your second and 87.5% for your opener works well.

You have very good strength, make sure your squats are deep, post vids of your lifts if you want more feedback.

Good luck at grabbing the records.
