How the hell would the watchmen get made into a movie? You’d have to completely bastardise it to even turn into a workable movie. It would be so different from the original, it would be questionable why you’d even used the idea of the watchmen, except to attract fanboys.
I agree, there is too much content to adapt to a movie easily, but I’d still like to see it happen. Maybe a mini-series.
I haven’t heard about the mini-series, but David Hayter (the screenwriter from X-Men) did a draft that, according to people i trust, was unbelievable. It “got” the essence of the story. Darrne Aronofsky was attached to direct for five minutes, but this was a couple of years ago and it’s been languishing in Development Hell ever since.
I remember hearing that ‘they’ (whoever has the rights) considered making an HBO miniseries but it didn’t work out. That said, I think a movie could work, one might have to eliminate some characters but in the right writer’s hands, who knows?
As for WW casting, I’ve heard that some the names mentioned above are being considered but also Jewel Staite (from Firefly) and Charisma Carpenter (Buffy and Angel), both of whom have a previous relationship with Joss Whedon.

Definitely my man Thor.I think it would rock with the whole asgardian scene, and a fight withthe destroyer possessed by Loki. Also I like the Batman beyond idea with Eastwood as an older Batman. He would kick some ass.
The Ultimates. They’ve done a straight-to-DVD animated feature, but a live action would be amazing. Also, totally impossible; it would cost $350 milion and feature a bunch of characters wh have their own deals.

When does the second DVD come out for The Avengers? the Black Panther was supposed to be in the new one.

T’Challa, son of T’Chaka will make his first Ultimate appearance on August 8th.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the flick, but the main thing that bugs me is they gave the Panther short-sleeves.
A bit casual for a king, I think.

It also leaves his forearms open to gunfire. How retarded.
I sooo cant wait for Iron Man to be released. I ust hopeo they do a good ob with it - and transformers seeing as we know that’s 2007.
As someone said, M.A.S.K. could be damn cool as so could The Centurians. You could really go overboard on special effects with the weapon systems there.
Another idea may be Ulysses … maybe a little more adult oriented seeing as it was a pretty dark cartoon.

Eastwood as an aged Bruce Wayne would kick ass.
But I’m quite scared that they’d (the producers) go with Brad Pitt as Thor. Now here’s a scary thought. He could pull it off, mind you. With 80 lbs more, that is.

Fuck Brad Pitt, they should use one of the huge guys from the 13th Warrior (I like the movie btw) to play Thor.
Lobo, a decent Dredd movie, Rouge Trooper, ABC Warriors (who would piss on the Transformers by the way)
Ive also been thinking that when every decent Marvel and DC character gets a few decent movies they should start joining them up and doing cross over movies. Superman Vs Batman was on the cards for a while I believe but there is great potential to for example have Spiderman pop up in an X-Men film or Wolverine do a cameo fighting Hulk etc…

Now that’s one movie they really did screw up, IMO. Stallone just wasn’t the guy to do it. And one of the crappiest plot of the year combined with that…
In case anybody was curious “Watchmen” is now under the wing of Zack Snyder, writer and director of “300”. He is also signed to do “Rainbow Six”. I guess I’ll have to wait for 300 to figure out if this is a good thing or not.

I know they’re not comic bookds, but I LOVE to see movies based on the DragonLance series of books. They could do a bunch of movies ala LOTR or Narnia.
I second that. I would also love to see Drizz’t Do’Urden brought to the big screen. With the same people who did the effects for the fight scenes in V for Vendetta being responsible for the fight scenes with Drizz’t.
