Comedy You Love

Ahhh the League of Gentlemen, what a fine show that was. My mates still pull that “My wife now Davvvvvvvvvve!” shit on me.

Another one that is one of my all time favourite comedies is the I.T Crowd. Took me a few eps to get into but I just love those characters.

Dress to Kill is the best.

Thanks

I consider this the funniest TV show ever made. Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Curb Your Enthusiasm, South Park…all great, but none can hold a candle to this IMO.

“The Life and Times of Tim”

I’ve only seen this on one American station, and nobody’s heard of it, but they always laugh themselves silly when I show it to them:

Nards
Stern
Pimpbot5000

I will second Stern’s “awwww!”…

Something else I used to love and still find funny…my namesake, “Pimp Bot 5000”, from the Conan O’Brien show…

Unless humour is spontaneously off the cuff its not funny.
Whatever it is about stand ups, comedy shows etc.I cannot find them funny as I know that media has been designed with the purposeful rehearsed intent of being funny.Hence I find it anything but.

I also thank you…that was sweet!

I think the internet with its memes like Philosoraptor and those other ones like that where there’s an animal or something and words above and below it are clever. All that kind of stuff like we put in the (de)motivational posters thread is great.

For TV shows I love the first 4 or 5 seasons of The Simpsons and the first two seasons of 30 Rock. I saw some season 4 of 30 Rock on the plane a few months back and it was awful, like the show had a stroke and was written by college kids.
Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm are great , but one thing I’ve found is that though I do like them a lot, I don’t actually seem to laugh out loud. I’ll smile, but not laugh…yet I still think they’re great.

For British comedy I recommend “Look Around You” they’re on youtube and it’s a fake science show that’s wildly inaccurate but done seriously. Very funny.
