Yea, these are horrible numbers for a rookie QB who isn’t even the starter. His 13 TD’s didn’t ever help his team win, his 800 Combined yards didn’t either. What was I thinking saying he won a national championship, when clearly he rode the bench all year and didn’t account for any of his teams success.

V

I NEVER said he had horrible numbers, or rode the bench. What I did say was he isn’t the greatest ever, and that’s by far. Florida also would’ve won without him. Anybody who watched Florida that year would know that. Florida had 26 MORE touchdowns then their opponents last year, 57 total. 13 is nice but Chris Leaks 25 TD and the teams 19 made him getting 13 a whole lot easier. See how many championships Sam Bradford or any other high profile QB would win if his team could score 44 touchdowns without him.
Oh you mean Bradford as a freshman? Shall I go look up how many touchdowns Bradford had VS his team as a freshman? You want me to go see how many touchdowns Tebow had last season? The season before? Lets see, 2007 29 Passing Touchdowns, 22 rushing, both SEC records, 51 total, more than 87 Div 1 A schools scored as a team. Yea, looks like he needs his team to carry him. Oh yea then there is this.

On November 24, against the Florida State Seminoles, Tebow threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two in a 45-12 rout of the Seminoles. It was later revealed that Tebow fractured his right hand during the third quarter but played the rest of the game. He had to wear a cast for the next three weeks.

And this

While the Gators finished the season in Orlando, Florida with a 41-35 loss to Michigan in the 2008 Capital One Bowl, Tebow maintained his record for both rushing and passing for at least one touchdown in every game played, and he raised the record for total touchdowns accounted for in a single season to 55. He played with a soft cast on the hand he broke in his previous game.

2008

On November 1, 2008 playing against the Georgia Bulldogs, Tim Tebow ran for his 37th rushing touchdown, breaking the school record previously held by former Florida running back Emmitt Smith.

On December 13, 2008, Tebow finished third in the 2008 Heisman Trophy voting with Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford taking the top spot followed by Texas’ Colt McCoy, despite Tebow receiving the most first-place votes. Tebow also won the Maxwell Award in 2008, becoming only the second player to win the award twice.

Actually, All of his records and achievements are too much to list on a forum, here just click this and give it an honest read. Then come back here and tell me that if he has a good year and wins the national championship and the heisman, that you still won’t think he is the college GOAT.

V

now its not just verbal blow jobs.

its super saiyan, internet forum blowjobz.
Vegita wrote:

Are you joking me? Tebow was the best QB last year, he played half the year with an injury, led his team to many big victories, like the SEC championship and the national championship.
His numbers did not compare to Bradford’s, who, by the way, was running a pro-style offense. Hell, McCoy was statistically better than Tebow as well.

OU’s O-line was overrated. I know because I watched them the last two years. OU’s running game last year didn’t establish itself until after the Texas game. Bradford threw 5 touchdowns and 385 yards against Texas with zero running game.

Yep, as did McCoy. So, why is Tebow better? Oh, because you said he was.

Obviously, he didn’t deserve it. He had two QBs that easily put up better numbers than him who played on good teams as well. If he wins the Heisman this year, then you might have an argument.

First, he has won a single National Title as a starter. He was the back up in 06. As of now, Matt Leinart and Steve Davis are just as, if not more so, decorated QBs as Tebow.

Quit bringing up the “should have” Heisman. He didn’t win it and didn’t deserve to for reasons stated above.

Right now there is plenty of debate. If he accomplishes what you are hoping, then he has made a bold statement in cementing himself as possible the best ever.

There was an official announcement made from the school saying he will be out for two weeks. This was said over the radio (sports animal).

My man Je’Ron Stokes is playing for Michigan… so GO BLUE!

Best player? He plays one position and one sport. Charlie Ward played Basketball and Football and excelled in both (including a Heisman and National title and NBA career).

Tebow is a better player than Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, Billy Simms, Steve Davis, Vince Young, Reggie Bush, Charlie Ward, Ricky Williams, Brian Bosworth, Peyton Manning, Tommy Harris, Bo Jackson, Archie Griffin, Earl Campbell, etc, etc?

He was on the team when they won the title in 06. He didn’t start, but played in certain situations. Florida would have won the title without him. Chris Leake was the starter.
What do Charlie Wards accomplisments as a basketball player have to do with football?

I didn’t say best college athlete, I said best college football player. And yep he’s better than all those other dudes. Doubtful he’ll be a good fit in the NFL and could very well be classified as the doomed “athlete” on a roster (unless Urban lets him throw more this season), but for now, for my money, Te-bow Te-bow Te-bow.

The four-letter does tons of Tebow nut hugging, that is definitely true. But just because they do doesn’t mean that it’s not valid.

And he has the best numbers?? Check your stats. He had 42 TOTAL touchdowns for 2008
Bradford had 52.

Must you also bench 400 before you can bench 300?

Please, he takes a direct snap and lowers his head for 3 yards at a time. He’s not Vince Young running around breaking ankles and making people miss.

Because Tebow isn’t half the athlete as some previous ball players. Vince Young is another guy who makes Tebow look like an average athlete. If one is claiming the guy is the greatest ball player ever, it would make sense that he is up near the top of great athletes as well, which he isn’t.

Dustin we’re talking football players, not athletes. I’d agree that Vince would be in the discussion for best athletes, as well as Billy Sims and Barry Sanders and Earl Campbell on and on and on… It’s not just stats and ability and physicallity and speed. It’s leadership, smarts, and overall mental toughness. There’s faster guys out there, there’s guys who can jump higher, etc, but as an overall football player, Tebow is it.

And yes I know who those other guys are. I grew up in Michigan so Billy Sims and Barry Sanders were deeply engrained in my youth, as well as Earl since my dad would always say “yeah they’re good but no where near Earl Campbell…” I see what you did with your list too, noting all the OU and OK ST guys first sly dawg!

Seriously asking me if I know who those dudes are? C’mon now, they’re household names Dustin of course I do.

I think Tebow is the best because you could put him anywhere on that field and he’d excel. And deep down in places you don’t want to talk about you know he would too.

Sad thing is that his hype is probably going to ecllipse him, become bigger and better than him, and he’ll never live up to what everyone thinks he is. But that doesn’t take away from what he’s already done, and in my head that’s enough to make him one of if not the best ever.

I wouldn’t call that a sucker-punch…dude was talking shit. That’s why you leave that shit on the field…they won. No need to talk crap…BUT definitely no need to react to it with violence…take your loss and move on. There so much more football left to play…dumb move in the bigger scheme of things.

Yeah, that guy’s in some trouble. He also tried to get at some fans and had to be restrained by his coaches and police. And that may or may not have been a sucker punch, but he was also doing some talking before the game saying how “we owe them (Oregon) an asswhooping”. If he can’t handle others talking trash, he shouldn’t be talking trash.

really though he layed dude the fuck out! not right…but that lineman was gone as soon as blount touched him! lol

An easy way to determine who was the best QB last year…Ask all the coaches in NCAA if they could have one QB on there team, who would it be?

Tim Tebow would be the majority hands down. It is what it is. As for the best ever, he is in the talk for it no question. Everything he brings to the field is to much for any defense to account for, he is an incredible force. I don’t know if he is the best ever…but if he wins heisman and another national championship than the argument would be hard to refute. But with out a doubt Urban is the man, i played under him at Utah. PHENOMENAL COACH!

Go Gators!

And especially…GO UTAH UTES!!!

Everyone talks trash before games…it’s part of pre-game hype. What’s the point of talking trash AFTER a game that you won? Dude was an ass-hat for poking the guy’s shoulder just to talk shit after the game(I’m sure the Boise coach agreed by his actions). Obviously,he can’t handle trash talk either to go out of his way for that. But that in no way excuses the bigger ass-hat for punching the him.

Boise State might be for real this year, yes I know their schedule is weak but if their defense is that good every game look out, their offense definitely had a few miscues (mostly due to being the first game of the year) but they’ll only get better, Kellen Moore is a pretty good QB as long as he doesn’t F up a snap and fumble like that (again, first game mistakes that never should have happened but hey they did).

Oregon’s Blount definitely loses points for that sucker punch, especially after Boise State OWNED that whole team (Oregon didn’t have a first down until 7 mins left in the 3rd quarter and had 14 total yards AT THE HALF, they ended with under 150 not sure of the exact number though). If Oregon comes back and goes 11-1, that win is going to look really really good, but will it happen?

I doubt it, they definitely looked overrated tonight, but the rest of the season is the rest of the season. Usually I could careless about extra activity at the end of games but that sucker punch deserves a long suspension or kicked off the team, that was a bullshit move.

Anyways, definitely ready for my Clemson Tigers to play saturday, pisses that NC State didn’t capitalize against those criminals from columbia, sc but I hate both of those teams so either way I wasn’t gonna be happy with the outcome. Bring on OSU/UGA and Bama/Hokies saturday!

Forgot to mention if y’all can view ESPN360.com they have the replay of the Boise State/Oregon up, if you go to the 3:10:27 mark and watch from there you can see what all of us watching live saw.
