I am curious to see how Tebow will do in the NFL, there seems to be an unwritten law that states…" I was a kick ass QB in college and owned everyone and everything. I was “the man” on campus, but now I am a total loser on my way toward my first DUI arrest. Then I will have a horrible first year, followed by a second, and eventually be one of the biggest busts to ever have won a Heisman Trophy."
Seriously though, I don’t know why some of these QB’s coming out of college don’t amount to shit once the reach the NFL. There are some no-name undrafted players who end up being incredible (think Hurt Warner of the former Rams and now Cardinals). Oh well, at least they have 50 million reasons to comfort themselves.
Yessir, for every Palmer there’s a Lienart, Alex and Akili Smith.
It’s few and far between that a high profile QB makes it happen in the NFL. Guys like Romo, Favre, Delhomme, and even Brady weren’t the sexy college QB, but made it happen in the pros.
It’s cool to see guys like Matt Ryan doing good though. Doing the little things, like buying a new stereo system for the locker room as a rookie shows he’s good people, and success oriented.

In almost no other position do you see such failure when transitioning from college to the NFL. I read an article in the LA Times this morning, where Taylor Mayes could be a Heisman candidate because not only is he so dominant, but people get tired of seeing QB’s winning it and doing nothing in the NFL.
I agree, that it is hella cool for a guy to throw down for a new sound system on his own coin. That is a guy who gets it, since he is buying something for the team who provided him with his wealth.
After my first year at USC, I went to my high school rival game and was able to talk with some of the kids. Many of them already knew me since I was there the year before, but being able to talk with them after going to the next level was awesome. I couldnt quite buy a sound system, but shooting the shit with them just made it worth while for them and myself.
