Hey Rocker,
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for the Justin link. I know a lot of the Frog fans appreciated it. There was a lot of consternation over the fact that not every ISP offers ESPN 360. There were 5-6 of your fans at the basketball arena and I got to chat with a few, very nice folks.

I was extremely impressed with Spiller, especially considering he was obviously hurt. I was impressed with your O and D lines, and your QB appears to have the makings of something special. He was very mobile, and didn’t try to force anything into traffic. When he realizes he doesn’t have to throw the ball 100 mph on every play he’ll be a great one.

I’ve been really impressed with the demeanor of every Clemson fan I’ve met. I apologize for some of the mouths on our board. 2314 is a friend of mine and he doesn’t mean anything by it, I’ve had a run in with one of the mouthier posters myself. I’ll be a Clemson fan from now on.

Good luck the rest of the year!

Also glad to see Utah beat Louisville. I have a lot of respect for our new conference mate, but I learned a strong hatred of Louisville in our 4 years together in CUSA. I hope Asiata is ok.

I am glad Penn State lost, it helps me a little. I feel bad for Joe Pa, I love that guy.

appreciate it man, that board of y’alls is pretty respectable except for a couple of users (same with the Clemson board and I’m sure everyone’s team’s board as well), I was surprised we kept Hughes limited fairly well today, but that QB y’all got is a pretty good one, he killed us with those runs today.

Damn that tipped pass in the first half! Oh well, it was a great game (except for our piss poor clock management at the end of the game). Good luck to y’all as well, we are rootin for y’all here on out, here’s to y’all goin upbeaten!

That and they’ll feel the need to “bounce back.” Better to have the team playing with an inflated sense of confidence after a big win. (This is how USC seems to lose to unranked conference opponents year after year.)

Wow, so my top 5 got decimated today! Only Texas and Florida are left from my top 5. Texas is looking a little more impressive and it seems now that Florida’s sluggish play last week might have been heavily influenced by the flu. I honestly don’t know who is who anymore. Absolutely no one looks dominant and filling out a top 5 would be largely speculative. So my new top 5 is:

  1. Florida
  2. Texas
  3. n/a
  4. n/a
  5. n/a

In other news, Virginia Tech is looking pretty dang solid. They probably deserve to sniff the top 5, particularly with the attrition that took place over the last four days. I was glad to see them win, as it makes Nebraska’s one-point loss in the final seconds AT Virginia Tech look pretty nice.

(Speaking of Nebraska; 55-0 over Louisiana-Lafeyette! Further proof that LSU (31-3 over the same last week) maybe overrated.)

Maximus, between suspect penalty calls and poor execution, we have left like 30 points on the field tonight. I was just telling my pops that USC would be the best team in the country if they could just play a little more mistake-free football.

How many insane plays of +30 yards were called back because of holding (or a bullshit no-catch call on McCoy)? I want to punch the ref with the glasses in the face.

I’d put Bama in that top 5 of yours (possibly #1 to be honest), they have absolutely dominated every quarter since the 4th qt against VT.

So using the AP rankings here, the #4, 5, 6, 9, 18, 22, and 24 teams all go while #7, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 23 all win by 8 points or less. Y’all thats 13 of the top 25 that either lost or came close to losing, wow we haven’t had this kind of impact since the 2007 season.

Honestly I think you’ll the top 10 looking something like this tomorrow around 5 EST

  1. Florida
  2. Texas
  3. Alabama
  4. LSU
  5. Boise State
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Virginia Tech
  8. USC
  9. Ohio State
  10. TCU/Cincy (I believe you’ll see a tie in the voting, if not you’ll see one of em #10 and the other #11)

Yeah, you’re probably right. I personally don’t think Alabama is that great, but they deserve to be in the top three for at least hanging on while everyone else falls apart.

LSU, however, does not deserve to be #4. They have played absolutely nobody whatsoever, and even then they’ve looked shaky in all those games. They will almost certainly lose to Georgia next Saturday, and I don’t think much about Georgia. In fact, I’m not sure LSU will be in the top 25 in two weeks. I would retain your ranking, but shift LSU to 11 (after the TCU/Cincy tie.)

It’s always funny when a ranked team beats an “unranked” team and celebrates like the Superbowl.

It was probably their biggest win since the early 80’s so let them enjoy it. Besides Tech fans are about the most obnoxious drunken trailer trash in the area. While they may not be ranked they are part of the great and mighty Big 12 (even if more a coat tail than a flagship). If you are in Texas and not in the big 12 you are treated like some kind of inferior step child.

Please don’t take this as a slap at OU because I have a lot of respect for you guys, and appreciate that you play us regularly in football and baseball. No way Mack Brown, or Soggy Burrito for that matter, would reschedule TCU after what happened in 2005. We’ve been hearing that we are “mid major” and inferior for so long, and that UT and the Aggets are so wonderful, we can’t help but have a chip on our shoulders. I’m sure UH feels the same way. And trust me, there are still some hurt feelings about the breakup of the Southwest Conference. While that wake up call was the best thing to ever happen to TCU athletics, it does not exactly foster love for UT, A & M, and especially Baylor and Tech.

I do completely agree with what you are saying about LSU (beat Wasington by 8 points, and are 1 inch away from losing to Mississippi State today) but I think they have the Ole Miss syndrome coming up, play low competition, rise up in the rankings and then play a team with somewhat of a pulse and get beat

Except for that time when they beat the number 5 team in the nation, launch padding them to their first ranking in more than a decade and putting them in the bcs buster conversation with Boise and TCU…

But who the fuck remembers 2 weeks ago.

I remember it well, but 1. I’m not that sold on OSU 2. OSU does not inspire the same level of hate as Tech 3. I should have been more specific but the OSU game was on the road, so not many UH fans got to enjoy it live.

Asiata is done for the season. He has a torn ACL. He was the feature part of the offense, but I think Utah may still be okay if Wide continues to play like he did last night.

USC (South Carolina) is my team and I don’t care what Rocker says. I’ve heard much worse from Clemson fans. I haven’t read this entire thread but I did notice one theme going on, yet another Clemson fan putting down USC, what else is new?
Ooohhh look at our history. We suck so bad but we beat Mississippi and it was awesome!

haha, I was waiting on y’all gamecock fans to come out of the woodwork, this is a never ending war, but I guess 65-37-4 doesn’t mean anything. yes y’all beat ole miss(personally i thought they were overrated but they were still #4), congrats, but we’ll wait for y’all, under the ol ballsack, to falter as the season goes on again. Just one last thing before we turn this into a never ending thread of attacking each others programs, even after winning thursday night y’all are still 530-531-44 alltime (still under .500, I actually gave y’all too much credit earlier in this thread)

Spike, we are pretty classy to other programs as long as they are not the Gamecocks (a damn chicken as a mascot…)

Ok, back on topic

Anyone else hoping Boise State can sneak into the title game? It’d be a great way to say FU to the powers that be.

Ahem. There’s only one USC. And it ain’t in South Carolina.

I certainly didn’t expect to see Miami lose in that fashion. It was obvious they were not comfortable playing in wet conditions.

It takes a little steam out of the game next week with Oklahoma. It still should be a good game however. And naturally, since they are playing OU, Miami will play lights out.

OU had better be ready.

Those old Miami teams were easy to hate. Here is a video showing why most OU fans can’t stand the “U”.

And yes, even Switzer lost big games.
