College Football

My hope was that this could serve as the college football thread throughout the season.

I apologize for the disruption.

Now, Miami and Virginia Tech. Any predictions?

I think Miami pulls this one out 24-13 because of their running game (VT has given up over 200 rushing yards in 2 of their 3 games, the two teams were Alabama and Nebraska, the only team they kept under 200 rushing yard was Marshall). If Miami gets up early VT will be forced to throw the ball which is not their strength, but VT’s defense has been good against the pass, so we’ll see.

Where is the game being played? Who is the home team? I say VT.

The game is in Blacksburg.

I’ve seen Miami play quite a bit so I’m leaning towards them, which will set up a top 10 match up and possible prime time game with OU.

I will lean towards VT even more if they are the home team, for some reason I think they are gonna rise up for the occasion.

I want to say VT gets the advantage because of home field advantage (and VT’s entrance is 2nd only to my Clemson Tigers as my fav entrance at the beginning of the game with Enter Sandman blastin) but Miami beat FSU at FSU earlier (granted is FSU the team who was losing to jacksonville state with til 36 seconds left in the 4th or the team who dismantled BYU at BYU?). Va Tech does have that close win over the Cornhuskers last week so we’ll see, but I’ll stick by Miami as my pick but it wouldn’t surprise me if VT pulled it out. Should be a good game to watch, though i’ll have my tigers streamin on espn360 put up on the big screen and flip back and forth a little bit

The hatred I have for the South Carolina Gamecocks cannot be described enough on a message board (come on how in the hell is this acceptable? Damn faggots http://image14.webshots.com/15/9/80/32/162198032DEhTWe_ph.jpg ) but this link can sum it up better than I can (this was going into the 2004 season) Rob Williams - Orangejack: This is South Carolina Football

Some good games on tomorrow, cannot wait, my game kicks off in 11 hours 23 minutes! Go Tigers!

Miami wins, Harris is to good and performs at his best in high pressure situations.

Florida needs to be tested, then I will beleive in their #1 ranking, so far the only thing holding them there is the fact that they returned 20 or 22 starters from last year, which is logical, but they haven’t proven their worth yet this year.

Best QB: C. Keenum and R. Mallet
Best RB: J. Best and J. McKnight
Best WR: D. Bryant and E. Decker

Interesting day so far, Oregon is beating Cal 18-3. VT is beating Miami 14-0.

Lots of upsets/upsets in the making today…

That’s what she said.

In retrospect, that made no fucking sense. I should have just stuck to the Geek Gen thread.

I am pissed Cal lost, we play them next week and wont be ranked #6.

Yeah, we have Miami and I’m pissed for the same reason.

talk about sucking under pressure Miami, man they got absolutely folded today, same with Cal. Spike, congrats on your team beating mine, I’m not happy about the way we ended the game but y’all beat us fair and square.

what?!? Texas… yeah, they’ll go all the way

Georgia By God Bulldogs!!

Oooh, sweet blocked punt returned for 6. I’ve always had a soft spot for Iowa. Hopefully they can keep this one point lead 12+ more minutes.
