Tell me about it. Nothing aged me like the USC-ND game in 2005, though. Holy fuck, I still don’t think I’ve calmed down from that one.

  1. I think it’s mostly the sadistic glee of wondering which coach is going to get canned. It was a pretty kick-ass game, though.

  2. Two words: Sports. Illustrated.

Today had some really great games. ND-Mich was great, as was UCLA-Tenn. OSU-UH was amazing. And, of course, OSU-USC was a barn burner.

This is the beauty of college football, every week anything goes. I also like how these guys LOVE to play, you can see it. In the NFL, they are a bunch of overpaid babies crying about making a million less than the next guy. Seriously, this is a GAME, and these wuss pusses make me sick.

What happened to your Buffs PMPM? Toledo brought an extra ass to the game and whooped it for you guys. My old offensive line coach came from Colorado when you guys won the National Title, and after dealing with him I thought, “All things golden must come from Colorado.”

My Buffs? You guys???

I grew up in Boulder. There’s no way I’d ever claim that team as my own. shudders

Boomer Sooner, baby!

And that USC/OSU game was awesome. Not the outcome I wanted, but still a great game!

Oh sorry I thought you were a Buff fan. I thought I read somewhere that you like the Buffalos. I would like to tell you that I am sorry that Oklahoma lost, but it just wouldn’t be true. Their loss let my team bump up to #3, but I still like you.

They are relevant only because the Eastern media thinks so. That is what I hate about the polls and the BCS system. People do not get to watch every game and often voting is biased to teams with big names and good histories. Everyone in D1 has 85 scholarships, and most are on TV somewhere, and every decent team has a chance to go to some kind of bowl, which leads to $, more practice time, and a quality opponent. Parity has arrived. We really need a playoff.

As for UH v. OSU, UH has been steadily improving since they hired Briles (don’t look now but he has Baylor winning), and Sumlin has picked up where he left off. UH’s improvement has been under the radar because of the conference they play in, but I don’t see this as a fluke. OSU has been everyone’s pet dark horse this year, but aside from UGA, who have they beaten in recent history?

My Frogs took care of business against UVA, once the QB found his groove we moved at will. UVA’s 2 TDs and about half of their total yards were in the last 5 minutes of the game.

Agreed. This is why I don’t watch pro ball. There were some fantastic games on yesterday.

Yes…I actually think Baylor is going to surprise some folks this year.

I could sure use them to knock over Texas.

[quote]MaximusB wrote:

Texas will fall. They always have trouble with Okie St. on the road. Texas had its hands full with Wyoming for quite awhile there, except that Wyoming had no offense to actually capitalize on that fact. Okie St. does. If Texas beats OU, I wouldn’t be surprised to seem them drop to Okie St. I really can’t see Baylor beating UT. Has that ever happened before?

Couldn’t agree more with ya, y’all definitely looked a bit rusty in the 1st half but y’all got rid of the first game cobwebs in the 2nd half fairly easily (to be honest, just like I was sure y’all would). Maybe I’m just overlooking y’all but I haven’t seen anything too scary about that offense (granted I didn’t watch any y’alls game against UVA) but y’alls defense is gonna be a great test for us in 2 weeks. I am still looking forward to that matchup, but am focused on my team’s game against BC this week (it’ll be my first Clemson game that I’ve been to as an alumnus which sounds weird to say since I graduated beginning of August but I can’t wait to get back there!)

They’re not going to be that surprising.

Texas has won last 10 meetings with Oklahoma State…and '07 was the only time in recent years that the Longhorns had trouble with them on the road. In '05 they had a early jump at home, but got crushed in the end. Last year was very competitive in Austin. So I’m not taking them lightly, but saying TX always has problems with them at Stillwater has no merit.

I am not gonna worry about anything, we beat Ohio State, probably the toughest game we have this year. Although I won’t put anything past those Oregon schools, those teams somehow know how to ruin national title runs.

Any predictions for the National Championship Game this year? My pick is USC vs Florida.

This would be a long overdue match up. I’d love to see this game. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Florida vs Texas either

I would say that in the Championship game, you will see Texas, USC, or Florida. All of which would make for an awesome game. Damn I am so glad college ball is here. Finally.

This is my recommendation for the new cheerleader outfits I proposed to the school, thought please…

Big Boss,

I found two new recruits for Texas, but I find it only proper if I run them by you first. Let me know how they do.

gotta love Clemson, I actually went to high school as well with that one on the left

Late to the thread, been on vacation for a week, returned just in time for the ND/Michigan and USC/OSU games on Saturday.

Biggest upset for the weekend though? Gotta be UCLA over Tennessee.

Michigan getting that win in the big house after everything that’s been going on was totally perfect. I couldn’t have jumped higher clapped harder or screamed louder when Matthews crossed the goal line.

Hey, ND fans… “shhhhhhhhh…”

I am glad UCLA won, it helps to give credibility in the notoriously weak Pac 10.

i’m a huge notre dame fan. sometimes i cringe when i say that because i know somebody is going to immediately start harrassing me, haha. but i don’t care, the tradition of the program is awesome and saturdays in south bend are magic whether you are 9-3 or 3-9.

i’ve lived in Indiana for a long time and been following them closely since the 94 Cotton Bowl when they squeeked by Texas A+M, thank god they finally won again last season…15 years is a long time!

i understand all the hatred towards the irish tho - there is definitely a favoritism that surrounds them, but i don’t get too wrapped up in all that. everyone can see how easy their schedule is this season. but, i do think they are headed in the right direction. Clausen has finally matured into a dependable QB, and they have a great receiving corps. the running game is getting there, but still needs some work! defensively, the jury is still out for me, but i have my worries now after last weekend.
