Ole Miss is terrible, even BYU should beat them easily.

Well, this should make things interesting.
See ya: Texas A&M leaving Big 12
http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefootball/story/Texas-AM-officially-notified-the-Big-12-Wednesday-that-it-will-submit-application-to-leave-the-conference-083111?GT1=39002
Got my season tickets for Stanford in hand and I’m looking forward to the season opener this Saturday. With that being said, I’d love to hear who else will be attending college games this year, and what the traditions are surrounding them?
What are your game day traditions?
What is unique to your stadium?
A&M’s traditions are legendary so I will leave them for the moment.
I was thinking about what the SEC has to gain from A&M moving there as well as what A&M can gain. I am sure the SEC would love access to the Texas market. And while A&M has not yet reached the top of the Big 12 pile in football (though reading 11 conference titles and 4 national titles this past year in other stuff), consider that A&M would provide the option for the home grown Texas football player to play in the SEC while not leaving the state. If A&M gets in, I could see tu’s, Tech’s and Oklanhoma’s recruiting being seriously hurt, and even some of the SEC teams as well.
Anyway, best tradition. We score, you score. When A&M scores you kiss your date.
(Read: you ask the hottest girl you can and you are guaranteed to score) So, during high scoring games - like when A&M could run up 70 points on a team back in my day - the joke was a first date at the game might get you engaged by the end. Kissing is also part of the tradition of Midnight Yell, held the night before.
That and during our fight song the stadium rocks back and forth. Not just the people, but the stadium continues to actually move back and forth afterwards. (This is why we do not play West Coast teams, their fans freak out.)

Awesome. Yea I’ve heard about the Midnight Yell before, but the scoring thing sounds like a pretty good gig.
I like the swaying pieces as well, although you would freak out the Cali people…
My traditions for game day. Well, usually I get to see maybe one game a year (do not have cable, live in Northeast). So, maroon and white jellybellies (courtesy of the wife) and Chili’s queso. Since I have gone dairy free it appears to be down to the jellybellies. And lots of Dr Pepper. The A&M tu game I usually call a good friend from A&M and we chat.

I was reading in Texas Monthly that they actually have signs posted in the press boxes warning of the effect because out-of-town reporters kept getting scared.
I wear crimson and cream to work on Fridays before games. Saturdays, I get up, watch Game Day, get dressed in OU (but nothing that we’ve lost in, it’s bad juju…this is why I have so much OU gear), put out my OU flag, and either drink lightly or drink heavily, but not before the game, and only heavily if we’re losing.
After last session I imagine DJ just prepares to loose.
Hey folks.
Only got two full days left until Kickoff.

Fucker picking on me. ![]()
From a football aspect we need to upgrade line to run a pro offense they tried to do that with a line that was built on the spread.
Watching the Dallas vs Vikings and M Bennett is a fucking bust damn aggies.
^ Hey we only may have one more year where either team cares what the other does except for one day in November (which better be kept, too much damn tradition there).

I hope they blow up the big 12 back to the West division of SEC.
I will still go for aggies man I just always wanted them in second place.

Coming from inside the SEC most people are are not all that excieted about A&M. Most SEC schools already recruit Texes pretty heavily and most ot the top teams have guys from there. I’m not sure that having A&M in the SEC will mean much recruiting wise.
Plus we kind of already have A&M in Mississippi State.
Football starts tonight! I am ready!
Saturday, I will be watching the Ohio State vs. Akron. I am curious to see how they play and see if they are mentally ready.
Saturday I will be watching as many games as possible. Going to a party at the Doc’s house, BBQ and Football cant get any better.
LOVE LOVE LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!
but I wish this week had more than two games of ranked teams facing each other, and fewer than 30+ teams playing D1-AA schools. Sigh…

BUT, BUT, BUT our current system makes it seem like a playoff every game, every game counts. I always want to punch people in the face when they say that shit.
Any upset predictions?
I can see both OU and Texas losing. ![]()
I kid, I kid. well… maybe not. lol
No. 3 Oregon vs. No. 4 LSU*
No. 5 Boise State at No. 19 Georgia
These are the really only two games that have serious implications. All the rest are really locks, maybe the USC and Minnesota game, but since Decker left Minnesota I am not really sure on there team.
So I say.
Oregon wins
Georgia wins in “upset”
