Yea PMPM but at what point does this also start becoming a lost cause?
I mean if you got UT and Oklahoma with a few scrubs, we will be less then the ACC. Nobody will want to come here and the TV revenues will go to shit.
Which is why we need to get one or two big name schools to come join us.

Won’t happen, as long as all the focus is on Texas, no big school will come to the Big Texas, I mean the Big 12.

Which is why we need Eddie Van Halen!
Sorry, your comment just reminded me of this:
Why on earth would any big name schools want to join the Big XII now? Who would even be available? I think some of the Texas faithful have tried to paint Notre Dame as a possibility, but that is simply laughable. BYU is already going independent. There is no one left to bolster the crumbling conference. Big XII is doomed.
Texas already seems to be on the road to independence, and at least Oklahoma, and probably Mizzou and Okie State, have the clout to latch on with another major conference if any are looking for further expansion. The other schools are probably destined for mid-major status.
I find this all fascinating as hell, but it may not be good for college football overall if its not managed properly. What does the future of college football look like, and how do we get there?

It’ll be a rocky road for sure.
I for one am very supportive of a playoff but don’t like the idea of super-conferences, unless I’m misunderstanding the idea of how they would actually work.

From what I have seen thrown around, North, south, east and west division. Probably with two divisions inside those. Then conference championship between those inside divisions, then playoff for the super conferences.
Super Conference Shmooperconference. Who’s it goona be this weekend folks?
Good lord I’m so damned excited for the season to kick off I can barely stand it. I downloaded a bunch of drumline marches to my ipod and I’m already marinating chicken wings for Saturday.
And it’s only TUESDAY.
Anyway,
I’m lookin’ for the underdogs, who you all think it might be?
My bet:
Oklahoma State. Sorry Colorado Lawdawg. They’re in the right position to do some damage with an decent schedule and a finale against Boomer.
Looks like Saturday night I need to be at Buffalo Wild Wings.
I look at this page Tuesday or Wednesday of each week to see what games I plan to watch. The good thing about NU being in the Big Ten this year is all our games are now on TV on the BNT network.
Seems light, but I guess the current players weren’t the most egregious offenders in the whole scheme of things. Also, the investigation is still ongoing, with further sanctions likely to come (when the NCAA completes their investigation sometime in the next decade).
…
Another interesting point as well raised in another article, that Nevin Shapiro cannot be trusted. Whatever he says needs to be confirmed with solid evidence before going to far with penalties. I wouldn’t be surprised if Miami never faces any particularly harsh sanctions when this is all said and done.
