What about Texas or Oklahoma? Texas gets watched so closely now if Bevo farts in the wrong direction it reported.
I’d like to see Bevo and Ralphie in a cage match.

You have a strong piont about UT and Boomer, can’t really shoot too many holes through their programs
I would like to say Michigan…

But you can’t because of RichRod.

UGH.

Boomer had their drama back in the day, especially with Switzer at the helm, but if they’re doing anything shady now it’s still under the radar.

Oklahoma has had issues as recently as a few years ago when a few players got paid for jobs they never showed up to. The players got kicked out of school and OU had to forfeit their wins during that year (04 or 05 I think?). The NCAA later reinstated the wins to the record books though.

I’m afraid that no major program is clean these days. Seems like everyone has some baggage - Miami, Ohio State, USC, Auburn, Oregon, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, maybe some others I’m forgetting, have been under investigation just within the past couple years.

Even at my alma mater, Nebraska, we have always prided ourselves on doing the right thing, being classy, etc (the whole midwestern, Tom Osborne thing), but hell, even we had our share of controversy in the 90s with players getting in legal trouble. Even though we’ve yet to have any serious NCAA violations (Nebraska self-reported a secondary violation of players being issued recommended but non-required text books for their classes, LOL) it wouldn’t surprise me if every program, even Nebraska, had some serious dirtiness going on behind the scenes.

With as much of this stuff going on, especially with the stink that seems to follow nearly every national championship program recently, I’d almost rather not even worry about championships and just be happy with a competitive yet clean team. This makes me sad for college sports.

I pray to GOD nothing like this happens to Nebraska. Not how how I would feel if we had a scandal like a SMU or Miami one.

Hey DJ, what is going on with the QB at Texas? They name a starter?

The only controversy regarding Nebraska that I can remember was Tom Osborn allowing Lawrence Phillips to play in a bowl game (I believe it was against Florida) after he beat the shit out of girlfriend, or something.

There was also Johnny Rogers robbing a gas station and still winning the Heisman back in 1971.

But still, for all the success, Nebraska at least appears to be a clean program.

all programs “appear to be clean programs” until they get caught for something LOL

On a different note, I received my sheet of Stanford season tickets today.

#5 ranking to start the season and a Heisman QB in Luck? Good to go.

All the big programs do this.

It’s the cardinal rule of football…if the ref didn’t see it, you didn’t do it. At least, that’s what John Robinson would say.

Sorry sir had a bad day yesterday and was just not myself.

Honestly I do not know what is going on with the QB at Texas. I spend more time at this point of the year going through the NFL and getting ready for Fantasy Football.

Breakdown of the top 25, internet style.

The networks are corrupt. Consider the progression of UT’s Longhorn Network, which the school operates with the self-feeding shit demon that is ESPN. Bad enough that Texas got its own network (was CMT not enough for these folks?), which was basically akin to the rest of Big 12 allowing Texas to barge into their homes and shit on the furniture. Then the network was going to air high school games, then the Big 12 took the speculum it was forced to purchase from the UT Co-op out its anus long enough to say, “Uhhh, you probably shouldn’t do that for, like, a year.” Then the NCAA straggled in later on like a deadbeat parent and decided Texas couldn’t do it at all. The sport is so fucked that the network had to navigate through two separate corrupt entities before being somewhat constrained by a third corrupt entity. Even the fucking ANNOUNCERS are corrupt (Hi, Craig James! Your son’s a gash!). This is a sport so hopelessly screwed that it makes the United States government look efficient by comparison. Every national title won is just WAITING to be vacated

So there’s a strongman show in Pueblo coming up. Biggest show of the year, huge crowd, and the events are tailor made for me. It’s 2 hours away, but that’s no biggie. I’m getting started filling out my entry, when I realize it’s on 9/3.

Oh yeah, that’s OU-Tulsa. Sorry, motherfuckers. I’m not risking missing the first game of the year for a trophy.

So, instead of filling out the form, I painted my toes in my new OU crimson polish. It’s got the little sparkles in it, I feel like my toes are wearing OU helmets.

Trouble for LSU? Possible suspensions and/or even jail time for players depending on how things go.

What are the odds that if Miles chooses to suspend any significant players (like the starting QB), that he waits to make the decision until after the Oregon game?

All these players know that they are being watched very carefully by the media. You would think they be more careful about doing stupid things like this.

To answer a question asked much earlier that I never saw addressed, John Brantley is the quarterback at UF.

Last year was not fun.

Hahahahaha

UVA is taking the national championship this year, just as soon as we knock off William and Mary.
